Excuse the lowkey rant gents, it is best I get this out;

Honestly, I never thought I would have this issue. About 3 months ago my LTR of 2 years and I came to a conclusion it was best we break up. We are both headed our separate ways, she is headed to law school in another state and I have been working on figuring out what I want to do post-college. She always gave me the respect of where she was at in our relationship, we both enjoyed each other’s company but long distance was never an option.

Not long after the breakup I made a drastic switch in my career philosophy, basically leaving behind a political path. To me, it was too safe and I realized I despised with a burning passion DC politicos. I am 22, I realize that I can take high career risks at my age and not come out damaged by it.

Right now I am grinding on a digital finance media project. I have solid finances, zero debt, and it is something for me to work at this summer instead of doing the typical seasonal job routine. I know I have self-discipline and drive to run my own business and projects. This is an idea I have had for ages and would be kicking myself if I didn’t explore it.

For some reason I am just unable to get my ex out of my head. I have 4 billion options out there yet I am stuck in a mental loop. I have a solid core of friends, who have been a great anchor for me. I just want to move on.

Right now I am not in a place to spin plates, Covid world fucked with me a bit (family members died, dealt with some bullshit in a powerful political circle, constant fear due to living with older family, and the loss of a year and a half of solid college experiences) I am trying to get back on track. I miss my ex but I know we would have never worked out. She was always a positive force in my life. It is a viscous cycle.

Any advice, reading, techniques to get over this and move on? Much appreciated gents
