I met a guy about 2 weeks ago and we exchanged numbers. We have been talking pretty much every day. Since quarantine I’ve been working on bettering myself and while I feel ready to date, because I haven’t for so long, I’m afraid of my old habits coming back. For me it is important to show a person who you are in regards to getting to know them but I don’t want to overshare and look desperate. For example, he asked if I’m the type to go out a lot and be a hot girl (which apparently is very common now with women). I told him no that’s not me and I don’t have any guys at all. While that is true, sometimes men don’t want to feel like they are your only option.

How do I handle these types of questions or navigate them in a way that shows who I am without feeling like I’m revealing too much? I’ve had bad experiences in the past where when I’m vetting someone I’m all in when it comes to getting to know each other and don’t really keep my options open. I want to maintain some mystery and not feel like I’m being eager. I also noticed I made some comments about how annoying my job is but I don’t want to seem lazy.
