Is the city you spend your 20s in really all that important?

I've moved all over the place. I agree that each place and experience molds you. I don't think you have your shit figured out in your 20's. By your 30's you start getting to know yourself better and you're less inexperienced. I don't think the city is that important.

Your environment will always mold you to some extent. It's obviously more pronounced when you're actively engaging with the people in your city. Like minded people usually gather around similar lifestyles and hobbies.

If you isolate yourself from everybody else and live in your own bubble I don't think it would make a big difference, except for the varying living expenses. As for the women, their ideals and expectations definitely differ from city to city.
