I don't know much about social media.

Do you need to know me in real life to accept my friend request on Facebook? Assuming I'm a pretty cool guy and new in town and you can see that in my FB profile. Let's say you accept the request. Can I get myself to be invited to your social circle or to an activity?

I am thinking out loud here.

If yes, go on.

If no, never mind.

I moved to a suburban city and don't know anyone here. I'm still trying meet ups and college clubs to meet people. So far it was slow. Say I will model the guy in the link above. For pussy and for meeting cool people. Meetup.com has mostly boring people. Anyway, I'll make my profile public, hide my friend list. Add some cool pictures, events with other high SMV people. These events will be at other cities. There will be guys and hot girls commenting on my posts. Since my profile is public, people will be able to see I'm a high status guy before befriending me. At this point, I'll start sending friend requests to real people in my town. And some of them will accept my requests. Then I'll ask their advice on a few things and try to see if i can get myself invited to something he is doing or to his social circle. Like 'I am looking for a boxing gym do you know anywhere (assuming he is boxing)'.

For women, I bet some would be stupid enough to accept my fake status without knowing me IRL. It would have better rates than online dating and cold approach.

I got nothing to lose haha as I don't have a social circle here. This will be a new FB profile, made for the country I moved into.
