Yes women want the top 20% but most woman can't get a hold of the top 20% because their smv isn't high enough to even be considered. So they have to shoot for someone closer to theirs. So you still have a chance to find someone decent even if you're not even the top.

Because men have lower standards relative to women (they'll basically sleep with any girl 6-7+), the top 20% of men drown in pussy. While the lower 80% of men fight over the 4-6s. In answer to your question, there is a silver lining for men. You may not be top 20% on pure genetics, but you can make the top 20% through hard work and charisma. While a woman's SMV is mostly based on her appearance, a man's is mostly based on his status (although a man's appearance is still very important). Therefore even if you're in only in the 60th percent on appearance, if you get rich, buff, charismatic, develop solid frame and game you can become an 8/10. This is not so difficult as it seems because most men are lazy, scared betas. You can get hotties if you apply yourself. It's called hard work and reward.

The 80-20 rule is just a mathematical estimation. For example in business the commonly stated rule is 80% of profits come from 20% of activities - this is not a law but an estimation for clearer thinking.

It is not actually 80-20 that is just the average used. In the sexual marketplace it is DEFINITELY NOT 80-20. Just from analyzing life you can see its more around 70-30 or 60-40. 35% of the men to 65% of the women sounds more like the times. If not and 80-20 was the actual strict guidelines.
