I wanted to start a discussion about social media. Particularly instagram since that is where it all seems to be heading nowadays.

I used to think social media was useless and fake, and barely posted anything but in the past year I’ve put some effort into it, posting nice classy pictures of myself, pictures of myself partaking in my hobbies, trips, things like that and I noticed that the quality of men I’ve managed to date is much higher, and that it instills a kind of ‘dread’ because whoever you are dating can see that you are an object in demand (for lack of a better expression). Or they are flattered by having a girlfriend that reflects well on them. And this is even for genuinely nice guys. I don’t mean posting your entire body, but enough to seem like an interesting person with hobbies and somewhat of a life. It also can attract men who are in your life already into speaking to you, and I find men you meet in real life are often higher quality than what you can find online (not always of course but I personally trust men I know IRL more)

A lot of this feels like meaningless and vain work though but the thing is it does bring results. Color coordinating outfits, taking nicely angled pictures, etc etc. A lot of men shame women for acting this way but it does work. A lot of people outright reject instagram and live happy lives regardless, and that's fine, I would just like to get everyones opinions on it.
