Sometimes I have gotten the impression that when a man has a son, his burden is passed to him. (And when he has a daughter, he gets a good ass-kicking! lol) If a man actively chooses to have a son, often, he can repay some of the debt by loving and supporting him. I recall that my father took the main part of his joy in his sons, giving to them all that he could. I think having children is somewhat of a "devil's bargain", but good and preservation can come out of it.

Teach your children well
