My theory is that women's hypergamy went out of control due to stars being reachable through social networks, like Twitter and Instagram.

Hypergamy by definition pushes women to try to get the best man possible/reachable and now they have the illusion that it is possible. She leaves a comment in hope he sees all her pictures, from there to sex and from sex to wedding.
