Got one finally. Had been pestering doctors for one since i was 18. Finally got a "ok" back when i was 36.

When she showed the pregnancy test to me, i congratulated her and the father, told her i was cut, and walked away. That was the last non-whore i bothered being with.

I got mine when I was 26. I can’t speak for everyone, but the process to do it took forever and it was not easy.

I’m glad I did it. I banked some sperm should I ever change my opinion on fathering a child and no longer have to worry about pregnancy scares.

I had mine mid 20s and it was so simple. Not even painful. The worst part was having the nurse shave me :)

Vasectomies are actually discussed out here quite regularly. As with any surgery and despite minimization by those that have had positive experiences, there are risks and lots of horror stories out there...just do a search.

To each their own, but lack of self control (condoms are very inexpensive and have the added benefit of preventing STDs) is a pretty stupid reason for unnecessary surgery in my opinion. I'm in my 40s now, have been very sexually active, have never had a condom break or otherwise fail, never had an STD and never had a pregnancy scare.

At the end of the day, your body your choice, and this is something you should be discussing with your doctor.

Some have post op pain for years.

If you get one. Never tell anyone. Never. Even if you still have to wear a condom.

Once they know you cant be baby trapped, or pay child support, women will lose interest in you.

Negative for me. Condoms are just OK. Not a fan of idea, that somebody messes up with my reproductive system without real medical reason.

I'm happy with mine. The risks of chronic pain appear real, and appear to be from 1% to as much as 30% of men who have had a vasectomy. I wasn't aware of this when I got mine.

My son is 24 and wants one because he doesn't like condoms and is studying ecology at college and doesn't want children. I advised him to wait until at least 30 to decide. And always, always use condoms.

I only briefly considered a reversal, when I was dating a woman in her twenties. One night of living together cured me of any desire to stay with her and the need for a reversal disappeared immediately. There was no second night of living together.

One thing I would have done differently is frozen some sperm as this gives you options.

They’re don’t quickly and safely in the US now. As long as you follow your doctors and the post op instructions to ensure you’re shooting blanks it’s a great idea.

I would recommend it if paternity fraud wasn’t as prevalent. Even Michael Jackson wrote a song about it. Lol.

I say dont get a vasectomy unless you are 100 percent positive. I have a medical background and honestly i saw alot of dudes try to get a reversal done because their wife was pressuring them for more kids. Alot of dudes here might be MGTOW, but not forever alone. What if you find someone who wants kids one day? Its very expensive to get reversed and sometimes even reversal isnt successful. The pressure of shooting blanks when your wife really wants a kid, i have seen it make men desperate.

If you are young, ie under 40, i would not do it and would ensure you always use a condom that you provide and ensure she doesnt know where they are kept(women have been know to take small needles into stashes of condoms).

After 40 you can continue or get snipped. I chose the latter as have a few of my friends with no issues.
