I know the general consensus is don't keep girls around for platonic friendships however we are friends from back in my beta days and I don't want to cut things off for the sake of it.

She offers some things you get from a true male friendship (and sometimes more) such as helping me out with favours whenever I ask. Technically I suppose I owe her since she does a lot more for me than I do for her (in fact I barely do anything for her).

She has now asked for the favour of staying round my house the night before a big train journey to a mutual friends wedding. The journey would be much longer for her if she travelled from her own home and she might even have to go up the night before and get a hotel if I say no. I currently live with my parents (recent graduate) and we have no spare rooms. I suppose I could set up a mattress on my floor but also not entirely sure on the best way to handle this.

As I said I struggle to cut off the relationship (we also have a large group of mutual friends which makes it harder to cut ties) but at the same time I am wary of treading into a 'gay best friend' territory.

Side note: I'm fairly sure she has some recent interest in me. She didn't in my BP days but since discovering RP, pre selection and a general increased attention from girls seems to have almost made her jealous since I was her original companion (for lack of a better term).

Thoughts?

Edit: To emphasise a point I glossed over, I want to avoid 'gay best friend' territory at all costs. Like one of those guy friends who a girl takes lingerie shopping. I am happy to help as long as I can maintain frame and avoid reinforcement of any nice guy/beta notions (relevant since I used to be one). Is this possible in the current situation?
