Most MGTOW come from broken marriages.

A few are incels (without the whiney incel mentality, subculture or crappy attitude.)

Either way, we are all brothers who make company with each other.

Some still date and do whatever with women, but only in ways that benefit us and add to our lives.

The Essence of MGTOW/Monkhood is this:-Once you realize that everything is impermanent, temporary, and that every single person you'll ever meet or know(whether a man, woman, your family or so-called friends) are only out there to gain as much as they can from you, in whichever way they can...that basically your existence means nothing to them unless you PROVIDE some kind of benefit/value to them...something which is amplified much more when a man is involved with a woman/women(male-female dynamics, hypergamy, etc.)...you come to realize, nobody really gives a damn about your happiness, or about being "fair" to you. You're nothing but an Object to women, society, the world at large. And an expendable, disposable object at that. When you realize that, you begin to wonder, "why am I alive? Who do I live for? What is it that truly matters?" and the only valid answers are 1)Personal success, goals, gratification, self-actualization..or 2)Peace, Freedom, Happiness which really only come from within(the essence of all Spirituality) and in a sense require a completely alternative lifestyle..bachelorhood, freedom from taxes, boss/workplace, society, politics, culture, materialism, and so on.

Basically, MGTOW mentality, once it gets into your head, makes you much more AWARE in the world, something 99% people aren't, and so you're the one who decides what you want out of life, in life, and what's truly worth it. After all, if you know for sure that any woman you date is quickly going to leave you once either 1)Your value is diminished owing to an illness, loss, tragedy, or 2)She finds someone with a higher value....would you want to commit your mind, heart, emotions and resources to her?

Would you want to live a "lie" ?

To me, the mentality of MGTOW is very simple:

Redirect energy used in romantic relationships to more worthwhile efforts.

MGTOW men have basically realized that the juice isn't worth the squeeze when it comes to romantic relationship. They realize this by being in these relationships to begin with so I would caution agaisnt thinking that MGTOW are incels.

Being MGTOW is an awesome way to live. Compared to my friends/coworkers who are married or in relationships, I am much happier. My money goes a much longer way than theirs does. I have infinitely less stress than attached men do for sure and this makes me feel and look better than my friends/coworkers. As we speak, I have a full head of curly hair with no signs of baldness. My muscles are natural and toned because I get good sleep because I don't have to worry about a wife/kids. I can leave my house at the drop of a hat and head anywhere for the weekend. I'm a free man and I love my lifestyle. I have no anger towards women, in fact I love them. They are beautiful creatures whom are great to have sex with. But they're like a cherry on the top, I don't need them when I have the entire cake already.

Let me reword that for you, now think whether that makes sense. Every boy is born an atheist and MGTOW, and the a bunch of idiots fill their head with bullshit.

Whatever makes you happy. One of the first things you tend to shed when you go MGTOW is shame, and tend to adopt a more IDGAF attitude toward life.

Is this similar to political lesbianism in the way that it's a stand against misandry, or is it more of a personal value deal.

A more accurate thing would be, trying to convince and atheist to subscribe to a particular religion.

You're making the positive claim here. Convince me that marriage gives me some value. Convince me to cohabitate with a woman in a non-platonic relationship.

See the deal? You think you're coming from the base line, and you're not. We're not proposing anything radical, we're just not participating in some ridiculous nonsense.

Incels: Guys who desperately want to dip their candles in something warm and wet but flat out cannot find a partner, make no effort ever to improve themselves and become more marketable, wallow in self-pity, and constantly blame everyone else for everything wrong in their lives. What they really want even more than sex is an audience for their self-pity.

MGTOW: Inveterate bachelors.

See the difference? Lots of MGTOWs have regular sex; we just don't marry or cohabitate.

For me, I get fucked over and stabbed in the back. I was angry about that and I found MGTOW1 and entered the redpill rage phase. Ironically, it was during this time of immense hatred and toxicity that I learned so much about human nature and the the truth about romantic love.

Eventually I started to calm down, started to question things that seemed too extreme, which led to me getting banned from there multiple times.

Eventually, (early this year) I moved on to here, where I can actually grow as a person.

It's not an organization.

Some might have once been "angry incels" but MGTOW is really more of an escape from that. One might come to the realization that "romantic" relationships never had anything to offer them anyway, and so they simply walk away from the game.

It kind of reminds me of a zen philosophy of detachment, that if you become attached to the values and petty pursuits of the world, you will be unhappy and enslaved to what some call "the plantation".

The path to happiness and inner peace is not getting laid, having children, getting divorced and paying child support. Nor is it being approved of by anyone, including women.

Your creator is not this world, but rather, you create the perception you assign to this world, and so, the world is more or less our creation, NOT the other way around! (This seemingly simple idea has INCREDIBLY PROFOUND implications)

MGTOW would tell you that happiness comes from freedom. It wouldn't define you. It would tell you to have more respect for yourself than to let someone else tell you who and what you are.

It is: going your own way.

It's the conscious and rational decision not to engage in a legal contract (marriage, common law cohabitation, etc...), that is designed by default to punish, enslave, and possibly imprison men.

The advent of no fault divorce so a spike in divorce cases, 80% of which are initiated by women. Your fault, her fault, a mix of either, you lose half of everything you built and if you're lucky, thats all. You might be enslaved to the alimony and child support mill, incurring all the burdens of marriage and fatherhood, with no benefits. Often in Canada and the US, the court's standards of what is owed in child support is determined by potential income. So if you got to a point in savings where you could get a relaxed job at a butcher shop to keep up with expenses, and your wife cheats on you and takes the kids, you'll be ordered to pay alimony and child support on the basis of your previously higher salaries. You lose all choice, all involvement, your past hard work is decimated, and your future is degraded.

This isn't a thing against women. It's a should shrug at a system that defaults to using the armed force of the government to transfer wealth from men, to women.

You might read this and think about all the good women you know. Thats great!! I know great women too!! This isnt about what any given would do, it's about what any given woman could do.

Calling MGTOW's incels is proof that your friends dont know what MGTOW is. Many guys here get laid, go on dates, and associate with females in ways that benefit them. Other's are in monk mode, and choose to interact with females only when absolutely necessary.

As for me, my ex wife cheated on me. I thought I was at an advantage for her affairs. Nope! Child custody and asset splits dont consider adultery. At all. Here I am, having dome everything right for the woman I thought was "the one" to have her betray our marriage, and not have any consequences. I made out by the luck that she was absent and constantly on trips with her new (married) boyfriend. Best I could have hoped for if she bothered showing up to any court sessions would have been 50/50 after a serious fight (and expense) and paying child support. The court even extended her ability to male a court session 3 times. My state's guidance doesn't even allow one no show!!

People have asked if Id get married again. No. Plainly, no. The risk is too great for very little reward. If she works and doesnt contribute to the household, its her money, pig. If you withold income, its financial abuse. She can withold participation in domestic duties, be a mediocre partner in every way, then decide to leave you for a clean break, and she will get it. In a marriage these days, youre simply hoping she will have mercy on you. Doesnt sound like the type of relationship anyone would sign up for, save for tradition and shaming, as your friends have done. I cant afford getting ripped in half again, exposing myself or my daughter to further instability, and degrading our quality of life and resources. And thats what would happen, given 2nd marriages have an abysmal statistic, even worse than the 50% chance of 1st marriages failing. Hell, i couldnt really afford the first time I get ripped in half.

So Im going my own way. The only way to win is not to play.

Some trolls on here like to believe this is a sub for eccentric dudes who just want to live solitary for the sake of solitude. MGTOW isnt the term for that. MGTOW states that most men will be better off not playing marriage roulette.

Good luck in your journey. Whether you decide this is for you or not, just be aware of the risks of no fault divorces and plan accordingly to manage that risk.

Well, I do not know your age, but that matters a lot as a man.

See, I am nearly 41, and while I had a decent run of dating in my 30s, after a terrible run with some pretty messed up women in my 20s, I realized in the last few years that the probability of meeting someone "good" was extremely low. Even in my 30s the women I became involved with were really not that great, they just filled the need. Serial monogamy, so to speak.

If you take care of yourself, exercise, eat well, and stay in shape, meeting a woman who is age appropriate and who also does, decreases almost like an exponential decay curve over age 25. Americans are obese, and the older one gets, the more common it becomes.

I have also found that any many women have unrealistic expectations for finances, and for what life will be, or they end up being very bossy. Now, one could decide to settle, and some may, but MGTOW looks at the statistics for divorce, and what happens in those divorces, and says that the risk is not worth the reward. Some, like myself, no longer bother looking, but if they met someone they liked, would participate in another episode of serial monogamy, but I don't think marriage would be sensible.
