You can always become an accountant in the future with a bolt on MSc or similar and then work towards beginning chartered or whatever the standard is in your country. However, you would have to do the full engineering degree if you opted for accounting from the outset and wanted to transfer into engineering later.

Engineering. Good Electrical Engineers are in very high demand. Accountants are a dime a dozen and in danger of being made obsolete by artificial intelligence (Automation) in the not so distant future. Think about what Turbo Tax etc. have done to the tax planning market. There is a real danger of that happening more corporately to some extent.

Neither - if you can do engineering you might be able to handle Actuarial Science. My cheating ex was a stay at home mom for 17 years. After the divorce she spent 10 months studying (on my dime), took an exam and landed a job for $119k.

Granted, she had other exams under her belt but the point is this - how many other professions can you leave for 17 years and then step back into 6 figures? If she continues to pass exams her income will rise well above $150k.

Accounting would be easier... And against what many have said, accounting jobs can't be replaced by automation lol.. At least not auditing or forensics. Get ur CPA, and u can make very good money

Computer science and IT are VERY competitive.. Tons of those jobs being outsourced to Indians who probably want it way more than you

Engineering is hard af, and very competitive but also very good money
