Monkey branching is the activity that is brought about by a womans natural hypergamous instinct.

It involves a move from one mate to another that moves her up into a level where she has access to a man who has more resources. More resources means more security for her and her (eventual) offspring. It is a uniquely female behavior.

For young men, especially in college aged males who would be in their sexual prime years, their genetic code says "inseminate as many females as you can". It is not reliant on a move ins social standing or a gain in resources for raising offspring.

There's a small group of men who chase monied women in NYC and other places I'm sure. They don't monkey branch but they are looking for the set-up.

Get married = get a couple of mill.

Were you branching to go up in income or social standing? Or were you just going from chick to chick? Thats not monkey branching in the latter case.

The difference is if a man monkey branches, mooching off a woman's resources, he's nearly universally despised. When a woman does it, it's seen as normal. Not for me. When women mooch off of men, I despise them. IMO that make sense. They're supposedly equal, so let them act like it. If they want money, they should earn it.

I wouldn't call it classic monkey branching, but let me paint the scene.

Miss 6/10 goes out, ignores guys that might actually be good for her (That's you and me) and instead gets this glint in her eye for Chad. Chad is a solid 9/10, he's also drunk.

Miss 6/10 spends the night with Chad. Chad wakes up without beer goggles and writes her off as "a quick fuck in desperate times".

Chad goes out and fucks another woman that very night. This might seem like monkey branching.

To continue, Miss 6/10 now believes she can "Get any guy she wants" and she would be correct. But it would be impossible for her to keep that guy. Still she's delusional, she believes Chad was simply an asshole. A player.

So she keeps looking, in all the wrong places, looking for that one Chad she can hold onto. Never hitting the point where she ever realizes it was just about a quick fuck and nothing ever more.
