Right there with you. Growing up in a liberal, feminist social milieu gave me an up close and personal look at women’s excesses and hypocrisy when they think they are basically unfettered by the restrictions of the “patriarchy,” whatever that is.

I don’t believe in feminism anymore, and I’ve given up trying to meet women’s ever-shifting expectations. I still believe in the social principles I grew up with, though, and I feel as alienated from the wingnuts on r/MGTOW as I do from the extreme leftists who don’t want me around because I’m just a cis het white male oppressor to them.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to find a middle ground, I’m all ears.

Bro any place you go there will be nut jobs. Have you seen the state of mental health in the US? We are going through an opioid crisis. /r mgtow and probably that mgtow.com are made by lay mgtows. Somehow /rmgtow got captured by extremists who ban any rational criticism because they obviously have an agenda.

Just like every lifestyle, movement or whatever; you will have your nut jobs. In the US, it is more extreme because we don’t give a f about our bros. Those leading a movement are probably the most important people. If you have idiots, they will mismanage and ruin the movement. Why do you think the dnc can’t get more seats in state capitals? They are doing a terrible job but Nancy Pelosi and Schumer keep their jobs election after election.

Bp men are already delusional, and if they are old, they are lost. They will set themselves up over and over to get destroyed. Propaganda will get ingrained in your mind, and this is why they try to get you with pledge the allegiance to the flag when you are 7. These bp men will get back up smiling and bend over for more. Its just a fact and why mgtow is so powerful. Its not about going your way, but about realizing that the propaganda won’t put you back on the plantation. You know the truth, and it will set you free. It doesn’t end there though.

I think we have to go back to the plantation and fix things because we are the ones awake and see the problems with the system. We also have a hell of a lot of free time and $$. Those who blame women are confused. It is the system and it has spread globally. Women are the people most guys interact with, so it makes sense that we would get angry at them first.

Politics cannot be removed from mgtow. You don't have to participate in those threads, but you also don't have the right to silence others.

I'm not interested in anyone here becoming part of any party, but just because you think ignoring this will "protect" you because you happen to be able to spout some trendy progressive talking points, doesnt mean it will.

I don't know. I think it is slightly political in itself, at least insofar as it's based on that conservative "what's mine is mine and you don't get to spend it for me" attitude.

Agree. I tend towards libertarianism values, but not the party line. But am forced to point out that social stuff has led a lot of us here. You can be hard line left or right and still find truths here.

Ultimately MGTOW is about avoiding cohabitation or marriage with women.

Sure, you get a lot of more libertarian/right-leaning folks here for a number of reasons.

I think a lot of it is the result of one-size-fits-all politics. You can be in favor of legal abortions and small government. You can be in favor of abortion restrictions and restrictions on guns as well. You can be in favor of affirmative action, but against open immigration. There are a million political positions out there and while there are often common trends the reality is that most of them aren't mutually exclusive.

So, MGTOW has somehow got branded as some kind of right-wing thing and so people figure that if you're MGTOW then you must be subbed to t_d or whatever.

That said, this is also a bit of a strawman. There are plenty of MGTOW "celebrities" and such who certainly do not buy into the one-size-fits-all politics. Some have strong opinions on other issues that they're not afraid to express (TFM comes to mind) but many of these will be up-front that they don't consider those MGTOW positions per se (again, TFM). Others tend to be a lot more even-handed on the politics (Stardusk comes to mind), and others largely avoid it in favor of individual exploration (huMAN).

But, I share your frustration when everybody wants to make their pet political position some kind of litmus test for everything.

Personally, my political views are such that I could probably annoy almost anybody who is sensitive to such things. Of the MGTOW celebrities out there I probably would identify more with Stardusk than most.

this sounds like an sjw narrative to me , not saying that you are but you need to understand that politics are part of everyday life especially lately , you have no right telling people to shut just because you don't like what they have to say.

I'll agree that outright racist rhetoric shouldn't be tolerated but banning people for stuff you personally don't like is something else. I'm against this subred becoming entirely about politics but some there will be some posts about politics , you just have to be an adult about it ,

I'm pretty liberal, but I see that gynocentrism = men's tax dollars being preferentially spent on women. So when MGTOW commentators point that out I can't fault them.

Agreed. I am a Social Democrat, and have zero clue what being MGTOW has anything to do with being a Social Democrat. Same with being a Conservative or Republican or Libertarian - politics have nothing to do with being a MGTOW.

And yet, those who would seek to shame and blame us are attaching the “alt-right” moniker to MGTOW without actually having one single clue why it is utterly inappropriate.
