Status quo is the greatest bias of the court. If you aren't parenting your kids 50% of the time now, you won't be getting 50% parenting time after divorce.

If you don't want to pay for it during the divorce process, then stop paying for it now.

Open a new checking account at a bank where your wife does not have an account. Start depositing your paycheck there. Open a new credit card in your name only. Right before you file for divorce, move your money from the joint account to your new account and disable new purchases on your joint credit card. Be prepared to do all of the grocery shopping. If you're paying the mortgage, the utilities and providing food, then she's got no "need" for temporary spousal support.
