Long story short

A year ago my wife and I separated. The relationship hadn’t been good for two years, we tried counselling for six months, she was messaging other guys etc we separated.

Ever since though she has created this victim story that I one day suddenly walked out. This isn’t the case. We both admitted we felt distant, both tried at counselling but we’d just drifted so far there was nothing left. And she was also texting other guys - I believe her when she said it was just texts.

She’s managed to turn some friends and even my own mum almost against me - all my mum asks is how she is doing, how hard it must be etc I just find it frustrating! I don’t want people to not ask and I honestly want her to be okay as we’d been together twelve years. But this victim status she has created is not fair and I feel like I’m losing some friends and my mum by being made out to be some sort of bad guy!!

Last week I went for a drink with someone. We’ve been separated a year. It was one, low stakes drink and it just felt nice to be out with someone. I’m getting crucified for this. I know for a fact my ex has met guys since we separated (I have no issue with this)

I know this is a bit incoherent but I just find it frustrating that I’m being made out to be a bad guy. In my opinion, despite her sending some texts, there’s no bad guy or bad blood really ! Anyone else had this?!
