Bit of backstory - we are having an all company luncheon tomorrow. We have two women who work remotely for our company who are flying in (The rest of the company is men). Our boss sent this to the men today:

"Gentlemen, Let's try extra hard to make A and T feel special while they're here. It'll go a long way towards making them feel part of things and that they're appreciated. So, open doors for them and pull back they're chairs at lunch. Be extra polite and don't treat them like just another guy. Thanks."

To me this feels kind of dated and sexist. Of course I am going to be polite and cordial with them. I will hold the door open for anyone. But I feel like they'd want to be treated like everyone else? I mean we are just coworkers. But perhaps I am looking at it the wrong way.
