This especially goes for men and women aged 18-21, women in today's world are celebrated for being a woman, they constantly are receiving positive reinforcement through every news source, social media app and in all types of media. Men are shamed and taught to be ashamed of their gender. I am 18 and just realized this now, all throughout school and in my personal life I was practically brainwashed to believe that men are all evil creepy rapists.

I was taught that women were the empathetic gender, and the fact that nearly every teacher was a woman helped reinforce this belief. In television/movies men are almost always the villain's and portrayed as violent, and I'm the off chance they they do have a villain who is a woman they are always made to be either be empowering or sympathetic. On social media there are countless posts about women practically bragging about cheating on their boyfriend and being celebrated for it. Women are also portrayed as kind and loving as opposed to the men who are always portrayed as loud and obnoxious.

Young men are also taught and told not to live for themselves and that they can't live a fuffiling life if they don't have a girlfriend or get married. Men are constantly shamed for being virgins and made to feel like they are less than. If you are struggling as a man you are practically invisible and taught to live and struggle in silence.

In an especially disturbing trend among teenage girls especially they are told how it's ok and good to hate all men, these teenagers are the adults of the future, our future members of society, I'm deeply worried for my generation and I'm terrified we will be too far gone before anyone realizes that we will have gone full circle in terms of oppression.
