In history, gender roles were dictated by biology, not by men. Women had a lot of power and influence over the social scripts that people engaged in around marriage and children. And that in turn had an effect on the rest of society.

Birth control and baby formula hadn't been invented yet. And it's kind of hard to run a business or a nation when you're 9 months pregnant or have a 3 month old suckling on your teat.

One of the greatest travesties is that we've blamed all of this on male oppression instead of biology. Men throughout history have done everything that they could for women. Men love and cherish women and hate the idea that they might suffer in any way.

I'll give you that men haven't always been perfect. But it's not a very healthy mindset to assume that men have oppressed women for thousands and thousands of years.

Gender roles and differences are set by biology. Per se, by natural selection.

Bigger and stronger males, who protect pack/tribe/family are norm for all great apes, except, maybe bonobo. So that's how it all started.

Split of labor is set by rise of agriculture.

Normal gender labor division was set by rise of Western Civilization circa Middle Ages.

Womem were no more oppressed than men were.

Women had to work hard to run house, care for children and so in.

Men had to work hard to grow crops, protect their families and societies and so on.

Go take a look on any ordinary, not technically advanced agricultural society. When the time to gather crops comes, ALL people of the village work to achieve this. Men, women, children, animals, ALL of them.

Life was hard, and people survived it till modern age fore the sole cause of working like eager beaver, no matter what's between their legs. It was just different tasks because men are naturally, biologically stronger, and women have more precision.

All feminist bullshit about systemic oppression, patriarchy, absence of rights and so on is one huge LIE. Half of them are just ignorant hens. Another half of them are just bitches, doing this on purpose.

Stop peplrpetutung their lies for the sake of holy chromosomes, both X and Y.

My take is, go to sub saharan Africa and try out life without western society. See if it's any better.

The fact is both men and women 'built' our society. But if feminists want to give men all the credit, so be it. Well done lads!

Western culture is at the highest its ever been. People are living longer than ever, we have a much higher standard of living than ever before, starvation is (for the most part) a thing of the past, education is accessible to everyone, health care is top notch, even the most poor among us by Western standards are comparatively rich by historical standards . We are safer than ever before and women have never had it so good.

Where's the problem exactly?

You're right, but those men made the laws of the land and society based on women having no freedom and having to rely on men.

They thought that women were like them and with equality they would take responsibility for themselves. Boy were they wrong on that part.
