Remember this.

You don't wake up a RPW one day and that's that. It takes time, patience, and work. It also includes steps forward paired with several steps back.

You're going to fail. You're going to succeed. And then you are going to fail again, quite possibly with something you just succeeded at, just finished throwing yourself a party for. You're also going to find out that some things just aren't going to work in your life and that's a good thing.

We live in a society obsessed with instant gratification. If something feels hard or uncomfortable we automatically assume it's either wrong or that we are failing at it or some combination of the the two. But that's not true. You're going to have to have tough skin and a strong work ethic to take the pill.

And it's not just one dose. There is a lot of maintenance needed because slipping back into old habits is easier than changing and sticking with new ones.

You will absolutely have hard days and want to give up. You will feel guilty and wonder if you are doing the right thing. And then you won't. There will be days where you will be happier than you have ever been.

Stop expecting things to be perfect, stop expecting yourself to be perfect.

Be realistic, work hard, and stay the course.

Lest I am making it sound like this is all about being miserable I will remind you that the hard work will pay off. Dieting can be miserable. It's full of weight loss and then gaining weight back before losing it again. It makes you down and depressed and wondering if it's all worth it. But in the end you drop the pounds and look like a million bucks and realize it was all worth it. This is the same.

It is normal to feel tired and like you are failing when you try and reinvent yourself. It means you're breaking through. Keep going.
