Essential, imo, and moreso if you want a family. I'm talking about a marketable skill with which you can support yourself, your spouse and a couple kids (if you want them).

I was fortunate enough to have options-- I was genetically gifted with brains, and with a pair of parents who raised me to value education, self-improvement, integrity, and work ethic. Given these options, I just can't really conceive of gambling on someone else to assure my financial future as being a good idea (particularly since women are valued for beauty ahead of all else, and I was less genetically gifted in that area). Getting myself some marketable skills (I've got an MS geology degree, and live in oil country) was just a way safer bet than trying to eyelash-flutter a wealthy man into my life.

I have a fantastic partner who is also ambitious as fuck, who works in construction. He makes more than enough money for both of us, if it comes down to that... but what if (God forbid) he gets injured on the job? What if we have a couple kids at that point? If I'd ditched education and gotten pregnant at 18, we would be monumentally fucked, as I'd be qualified to work at... uh... McDonald's.

... in any case, tl;dr, I feel much more secure in a relationship where both partners have solid earning potential particularly if you're bringing children into the picture.

There's a tradeoff.

If a woman chooses to focus on her career and compete with men in the workplace, she won't be as attractive to men, and may have to choose a less desirable mate. If she has kids, she'll have to dial back her career.

If she chooses to focus less on her career, she'll have less of her own money, but men will be more forthcoming with her, and she'll have more time to spend with her children.

The red pill isn't about this or that thing being good or bad. It's about actions having consequences, and lives being a tradeoff in priorities.

I have a career. It's fine.

I think that there are careers and then there are Careers where the person is is driven to achieve the highest position with the most power and the biggest paycheck. I have a nice steady career and am not driven, but I am able to do my job, make a very nice paycheck and then come home at a reasonable hour to enjoy my husband and home.

I think when you are young and single you should put your career first and get the highest education and best jobs you can. Why? Because you never have this young, single, 'selfishness' time to yourself again. Once a family comes into the picture things change and they become the priority. Plus, at least in my field, a higher degree opens the door for better hours and better pay. So when your family comes into the picture you can still work but spend time with them.

When marriage and family come into the picture the career/ family business changes from family to family. It changes based on net income, number of children and what the husband and wife want for themselves and each other and for the kids ( or just for each other family includes just a husband wife pair).

I personally believe that a woman should always have a foot in the door of her career. Life is life: divorce, death, unemployment, and other bad things happen and sometimes the woman needs to become the main breadwinner. If a woman abandons her job completely for many years then tries to go back, she's going to have a hard time. If she keeps her foot in the door it becomes much easier.

good, but every female's natural "career" has an expiration date on it, and should come first. idc how they react when i say this either, because they bitch, whine and cry literally endlessly when they're past 28 and not in a serious thriving relationship and have no sign of one on the horizon.

do it all, but do your natural job to the fullest first. focus on self improvement, loving yourself, becoming someone that a good man could love, and be a good wife and mother. if you work, work part time. study online. don't become somebody's worker bee until your kids are big enough to watch themselves.

you WILL sacrifice the fulfillment of one of your goals in life to fully pursue another. don't be like every other miserable women these days, go all in on the option that will rapidly decline and then expire.

Good. I have a small business, my SO has his career. We spend as much time as possible together. We are financially independent but enjoy spending money on activities we can experience together as a couple.

I don't believe e they should be nessicary, but unfortunately the world we live in women have to get careers they don't really want rather than focus on attracting a man
