It seems like we’ve been having a lot of newcomers on this sub many of them getting defensive when they realize they’re male-oppressor female-oppressed dichotomy is a farce
How sad is it that men's reproductive rights is considered to be in the "less agreeable" category. In a reasonable world, that should be extremely solid evidence that men are discriminated against, both socially and legally. When you lay out just how many options women have compared to men, it should be insane for anyone to deny it.
Even if you remove abortion from the equation entirely (to remove the "but it's her body, so it's her choice" defense), it's still a really grim picture.
If an accidental pregnancy happens, and a woman doesn't want the burden, she can give it up for adoption, or she can drop it off at a safe haven. But if an accidental pregnancy happens, and a man doesn't want the burden, the mother can make the decision for him, forcing him to pay child support for two decades, completely against his will.
And on the flip side, it's just as bad when the child is wanted. If a woman gets pregnant and wants it, she can choose to tell the father and raise it with him, or she can choose not to tell the father, and raise it by herself. But if you are a man who gets a woman pregnant, she can choose not to tell you that she's pregnant, and either raise the child by herself, or give it up for adoption rather than let you raise it or even know it exists.
It's truly ridiculous how few rights men have in this area.
