Thousands of dads are left in shock as DIY paternity tests soar. Up to 30,000 tests are being performed every year, says Alphabiolabs. In the UK about 750,000 babies are born every year. Feminists want the test to be illegal without the written consent of the mother.

"Gustafson's anxieties about being found out"

POOR HER! Imagine that life, the torture, the pain she must be in, having committed a crime and feeling anxiety about being punished for it. It's like a punishment in itself!

Imagine the horror, let's imagine an adult man raped a girl, and then he would have to spend so much time with the worry and fear of being found out?? It's like living torture.

Although an adult man who rapes a girl child or a random female jogger obviously must go to prison, I think it is important to recognize the fear and pain that a man who rapes a girl or random female jogger will feel, as a result of their worry of being found out, and recognize that it's almost like a lifetime of punishment in itself.

If a male teacher does that to a female student that's 14-year-old he would be labeled as a pedophile and be condemned for life. That's the society that we are living in.

[–]BirdMington 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What they didn't write about: mom, 24 had sex with all the officials to avoid jail time.

[–]rabel111 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yet another sexual predator who systemtically raped a child over several years, released back into the community with nothing more than a slap over the wrist, and the seal of approval from an out-of-touch and gender biased old fool - never mind, no real harm done. Listing of women as a sexual offender in the UK is subject to the same gender biases as this cowardly decision.

You have to wonder whether the lack of empathy for child victims of female pedophiles say more about the sexual preferences of the UK judiciary, than about community expectations of the protection of vulnerable children.

[–]EvilLothar -2 points-1 points0 points 5 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

She's now a registered sex offender and probably won't ever be able to teach again. And the coverage is at least fair and accurate, and she is rightly being called a pedophile. The time in jail is less of an issue as the reporting and the sex offender status.

I don't want people sitting behind bars for revenge. I want them to get the mental help they need, and if society is better served by her not being jailed, then that's fine.

[–]dingoperson2 17 points18 points19 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Similarly, I think that any man reading this who ends up raping and murdering a woman should not go to jail, because I believe jails are not the ideal places for rehabilitation.

[–]wolfie379 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No, she is not rightly being called a pedophile. Pedophile refers to someone having sex with prepubescent children. Due to the victim's age, the offender would be on the cusp of whether she's a hebephile (victim is going through puberty) or an ephebephile (victim is sexually mature but not yet a legal adult).

Calling her a pedophile is like calling a pickpocket a robber - one element defining the crime of robbery is that the theft be accomplished by violence or threat thereof. A pickpocket is a thief (and that woman has committed statutory rape under whatever name her state uses - in no state in Yankeeland is the age of consent under 16 years, or does a "close in age" exemption cover a 10 year age gap or a case where the older person is in a position of authority over the younger), but he's not a robber (and due to the victim having entered puberty, the offender doesn't meet the definition of pedophile).

[–]EvilLothar 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

A pickpocket is a robber, they are just using a different means to steal from you.

[–]wolfie379 -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Criminal Code of Canada:

343 Every one commits robbery who

  • steals, and for the purpose of stealing or extorting whatever is stolen and to prevent or overcome resistance to the stealing, uses violence or threats of violence to a person or property;

  • steals from any person and, at the time he steals or immediately before or immediately thereafter, wounds, beats, strikes, or uses any personal violence to that person;

  • assaults any person with intent to steal from him; or

  • steals from any person while armed with an offensive weapon or imitation thereof.

Please show how a pickpocket fits this description.

[–]EvilLothar 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Okay Mr. fucking lawyer. You realize that there is a difference between the legal definitions and the words themselves rights?

ROB: 1a(1) : to take something away from by force : steal from (2) : to take personal property from by violence or threat b(1) : to remove valuables without right from (a place) (2) : to take the contents of (a receptacle) c : to take away as loot : steal rob jewelry 2a : to deprive of something due, expected, or desired b : to withhold unjustly or injuriously

Clearly, under the english definition of the word ROB, you only need to take the contents of, or to take away as loot. Yes ,violence could be used, but you don't HAVE to use it to rob someone.

[–]Detective-Efficient -5 points-4 points-3 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

and she is rightly being called a pedophile

No, she is not. It is highly unlikely for a 14 year old to appear prepubescent. Anything else is not pedophilic behaviour, regardless of the harm it has or has not caused.

She's now a registered sex offender and probably won't ever be able to teach again.

Registring sex offenders is known to raise the rates of re-offense.

I don't want people sitting behind bars for revenge. I want them to get the mental help they need, and if society is better served by her not being jailed, then that's fine.

Absolutely agree.

[–]wolfie379 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As I mentioned in my own comment. It's like someone whose pocket has been picked, or comes home to find that their valuables have been stolen, saying that they've been robbed.

[–]erikaxxxoest 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

At 14 I looked prepubescent, even at 23 people think I’m a child

[–]Sanewaynedude -2 points-1 points0 points 5 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

Plenty of male teachers do the same and don’t go to jail. Especially if it is found out a couple years after the fact

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 5 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. I don’t know where people get the idea that crimes against women and children never lead to probation. Is there sentencing disparity? No question. Do men get away with shit too? Hell yes.

[–]rabel111 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Grow up. Read some of the extensive evidence based research on the sentencing differences between males and females convicted of the same crimes. You can read?

Your made up statements just reflect your sexist attitudes.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 5 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Is there sentencing disparity? No question.

And you're asking me if I can read, lmfao.

Do men get away with shit too? Hell yes.

Time served for keeping a girl in a dog cage and abusing her:

Don't worry, it wasn't "rape, rape" even though she was 14.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/school-bus-driver-watertown-ny-shane-piche-pleaded-guilty-no-jail-time/

Social media made him do it:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/feb/08/idaho-judge-rape-social-media-twin-falls

She could have kept her knees together:

https://www.cnn.com/2016/09/12/world/robin-camp-rape-comments-trnd/index.html

Is this not men getting away with shit? I guess I'm sexist because I know there are people who don't give a crap about any victim of a sex crime.

[–]rabel111 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Picking out a handful of examples versus systematic reviews of all cases in the UK, you got to be joking. clearly you are just mouthing off and have no idea about real research conducted by impartial academics, many of whom are feminists.

Reading means reading ALL the evidence, not just the news headlines that support your prejudices. Go and be angry with men somewhere where that's considered OK. There are plety of rabid feminist web sites that are full of misandrists.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 5 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

You’re talking about the uk? Where they let girls get groomed and raped so no one will be angry at south Asian men? Good point.

You all pride yourselves at not being like the feminist subs because you don’t ban people with dissenting opinions. But you’ll tell people to fuck off and stop participating. No, I don’t think I will.

Sorry that victims of all sexes don’t always receive justice no matter the sex of the perpetrator is a controversial opinion. Sentencing disparity is also an issue. More than one thing at a time can be true.

[–]mewacketergi2 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I guess I'm sexist... because...

Yeah, good luck to anyone in finding common ground with you.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

😭

[–]mewacketergi2 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I believe the appropriate feminist expression is "cry me a river".

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Ok I think I hat where you are coming from.

Queer theory is becoming very prominent on the left in ways I think are harmful to women. All of academia is on board. It’s captured institutions. Corporations are giving money and supporting it. Women who critique sex work or porn are banned from women’s online spaces. The people who aren’t on board are silent. No one is questioning whether it’s right or wrong, good or bad or whether it’s hurting anyone. There’s the same thing of using statistics to bolster their arguments and creating panic about murders and hate crimes.

I can see how when feminism entered society people who had an agenda, wanted power, or who wanted to shape the world in their own image took it up

If I’m misinterpreting you try not to call me a moron and don’t be as uncharitable as possible so you have someone to yell at.

[–]mewacketergi2 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

If I’m misinterpreting you try not to call me a moron and don’t be as uncharitable as possible so you have someone to yell at.

Wait, I'm confused. Are we on speaking terms again somehow? Is this perhaps a sign of your acknowledgment that I might perhaps just maybe possibly made a good point or two, which aren't null and void merely because you disliked my tone? Please help, because I sincerely don't know what to think. Thanks.

The important question to ask is, are you against getting things done through this process on principle, or only when you disagree with its results, or are we supposed to empathize over "problems exist" without discussing underlying principles?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Are we on speaking terms again somehow?

🤗

merely because you disliked my tone?

Your tone? I had to weed through your interpreting my contributions in the least charitable manner possible then harrumphing about them. That I was still able to eventually gain understanding is as much to my credit as it is yours.

are you against getting things done through this process on principle

Yes. I think things should be done as openly as possible. For instance, when statistics are used to justify policy, they should come from peer reviewed research or be from a place like the CDC. The statistics need to be sourced and the source needs to be readily available for free. My two cents.

without discussing underlying principles?

I'm not sure I have enough spoons for this.

Anyway, I'm not sure what you want from me. I'm conflicted about taking the feminist label. But, I support the liberation of women from coercion and control related to their sex. But, probably 75% (at least) of feminists hate me so..... Why thought should I let them or you tell me what the word should mean to me? If I started calling myself a humanist, nothing would change in my beliefs or behavior so what is the point?
