I think the majority of society, probably all over the world, have been rewired with this notion. The majority of people sitting in those groups would probably be just inclined towards the view, because they have not read sufficiently on the matter and put their feelings aside and consider the many factors leading to differences in salary. The males sitting on those groups, if there are even any, may also be less inclined to speak up as they might just be ignored anyway. I would hope that the group would come to a conclusion that debunks the whole gender pay gap issue, which I would see as a huge win for Singapore as an independent thinker in the global scene. However, I'm not entirely optimistic.

No he did not talk about equalising military service. I personally take pride in being able to serve as a male in the military. I think it's an honorable duty, and yes I would be willing to protect the women in this country despite what they may throw at us. I think it's great that men gets to perform this duty, so while I know it is technically unfair, I am perfectly proud to make this sacrifice. I think there are also many women out there who respects that, just like how men also respects the sacrifices women have to make by their God-given child-bearing responsibilities.

Well, I would respectfully disagree. We don't live in a perfect world and that's why we have a strong military force which provides deterrence, but has also been extremely useful in other peacetime requirements like during disaster relief. Therefore, people are required in the military and neither is not really an option.

If it should be enforced that both genders are to serve the military, it's probably a question on how many people do we need for the military force size and what are the opportunity cost of having both genders in the military. For one, during a protracted war, with the full fighting strength of both genders in the military, then there would be many other areas of society which would not function properly. Therefore, if I were to pick the dominant gender to be in the military it would be men because they tend to be physically stronger by nature.

We have a natural tendency towards certain things which is why society has evolved in such a way. To say that it is unfair would be due to a lack of understanding of the bigger picture of how society functions.
