So first off I convinced my wife that we should see a counselor when covid is over, hopefully it helps, now onto the reason for my post. I do love her and I want us to work it out but this event showed me how lopsided it all is.

In April me and my wife got into an argument, she turned it violent with throwing things at me, and body slamming me as I tried to walk away. I eventually had enough and grabbed her wrist to remove her newest projectile before she could swing it at me. While this is going on a neighbor hears the yelling, police show up. I get told to wait outside while they question her, then they talk to me. Because she has a bruise on her wrist and I don't have any injuries and they say we didn't witness her throwing things, she said you did. I get informed how lucky I am she's not pressing charges but that I need to leave for the night, and they proceed to follow me for about 15 miles. I wasn't allowed to go back inside for a change of clothing, they asked her to get me my car keys and wallet of which the debit card was removed.

It just rubs me the wrong way, that in this situation I'm automatically assumed to be the abuser because of her word.
