Kinda my story. Not that terrible, in my group I was at the top of the game, got invited to all parties, always appeared in TV and newspapers to talk as a respected professional (in my local town at least).
Then out of nowhere, false accusation. I was suddenly untochable, radioactive, nobody touched me anymore. I got a false accusation which I eventually won and was declared innocent. That didn't change a thing. The girl used the accusation to propel her career and now she successfully replaced me on news and newspapers articles. Funny eh?
Couldn't care less really, money didn't stop flowing my way, thanks god, but still the injustice always hurt.
My uncle killed himself over a false accusation. He, too, won the court case easily. But he lived in a small community and no one would even look his way afterward.
