More women need it than men I’d wager.

They’re the ones that in my experience are unhinged.

Outbursts, flicks, slaps, spitting, destruction of property.

Acting like that, expecting no counter?

See fellas, if one dude does that to another, we know some shit is coming. Just because they’re a woman, doesn’t mean they should get to act like that and be exempt from the consequences.

Example: my ex stabbed me, while I was sleeping, twice. (edit: twice in the same act of violence, not two separate occasions)

Not knowing what was happening and waking up in massive searing pain and confusion, once I realized what was happening, I hit her- hard. Right in the face. I took the knife, sliced the screen and threw it down onto the carport roof.

I called the cops, they showed up, they automatically tried to arrest me for assault and wouldn’t listen to a damned word I said.

I was getting woozy and the cop kept being physically rough with me. When I kept asking for an ambulance he said “where’s all the blood coming from” I was starting to slip, he realized it was me. I told him she stabbed me while sleeping, didn’t dispatch relay that?

Ambulance came and she was still screaming she wanted me arrested...for hitting her.

Ladies, if you hit a man, you deserve whatever you get. You are declaring yourself his physical equal and we have every fucking right to defend ourselves. I don’t give a fuck what else was taught to you. Want to be treated with dignity and respect, act accordingly. You’re human, just like we are, not a God.

Think it through and try not to let your emotions override whatever logic wouldn’t verify.

What’d I get stabbed over? I was in college full time, had two part time jobs and I had to work late, needing to be up in 3 hours, to start it all over again and I, the big, selfish-manwhore that I am didn’t load the dishwasher for the day. Dishes she and her friends dirtied that day while I was gone from 5am onward. Not one dish had I used.

Didn’t do as master said because I selfishly wanted 3 hours of sleep so she could stay home and not work. That’s right, how dare I, I mean I’m the bastard, for defying her, right?

Painting themselves the victims and as if they’re innocent and perfect and are just pretty punching bags. Bullshit. (Sure, there are exceptions to the rule, but come on, don’t piss on our leg and tell us it’s rain)

And that’s just physical abuse, don’t get me started on the emotional abuse...”ladies”....

You can read this article and come away with the impression that finally someone found a quasi-celebrity spokesperson who wants to teach boys and young men to recognize when they're being abused and put a stop to it. More likely, what she means by teach boys about domestic violence is to gaslight them that if a girl hits them, they probably deserve it.

It's similar to when they talk about teaching inner city black and latin youth about combating racism. If your an inner city mother in the audience you might think "ah, yes, they'll do something about black and latino gang fighting each other! My kids will be safe!"

Except they're using the white supremacist definition of "racism" and since black and latino kids hating each other due to racial bigotry doesn't meet that definition, that's not what they're going to address.
