Two of my female coworkers have gone to their doctors and asked for prescription grade painkillers (opioids) and their doctors have prescribed them. I asked my doctor and she wont prescribe them. They had 'back pain' which is completely subjective.

I have scar tissue in my brain from the sexual abuse suffered as a child and have debilitating pain in the right side of my head and neck. When I had a surgery for a hernia they gave me opioids (percocet) and was the first time in my life I was completely pain free. I was able to paint in color (which I never do) and was just enjoying life. When the medication was over I asked my doctor but she won't prescribe them to me. Why do they deny painkillers to men in pain?
