Its not fucking mind control. Its no different from a show that has all pretty people acting in it in terms of the looks. As to the impossible nature of the bodytypes...yeah, so, I don't see tons of 7 foot tall dudes who weigh about 300kgs and are so jacked that flexing would destroy their shirts. Most of the animation doesn't show realism, the ones that do stil lshow things that are...fantastical most of the time. Kengan Asura is a good example, things are...somewhat realistic, but every guy in that show is jacked to hell.

As for paraphernalia, has she never met, like, a Star Wars fan? Or any fucking hardcore fan? They buy shit! They buy all the shit!

As for its 'sexism'. Most anime's, well, the good ones, are not sexist..per say. However, you will almost always have violence against a guy being funny and against a girl being anything but. There are sexist things that happen, arguably, it varies from anime/manga to anime/manga.

Promoting gender dysphoria is all in her head though. As for unrealistic standards of women...ummm, if it was doing that, then its also doing the same for men, its either for both, or neither.

And she is an idiot, if people are recommending anime, some are really good, painting all anime with the same brush is dumb as fuck.

Someone needs to tell this person that despite most of us having been introduced to the medium of animation thru the Walt Disney company, animation is not inherently a medium for children and there is plenty of serious art in this form that was never intended for children. (think Akira or Ghost in the Shell)

Someone needs to get this bitch to watch the new season of Fruits Basket. That show has so many overwhelming feels moments I don't think there wasn't an episode I didn't tear up at some point. It's a story about love and acceptance that shines light on how cruel people can be all wrapped up in a cute package. That said, like regular television 99% percent of it is either shit or doesn't appeal to someone, anime is no different.

And - "Anime promotes gender dysmorphia" - This fucking TERF can stay in her little safe-space hole in the ground.
