At my high school there is this coding club just for girls but there isn’t one for boys OR for both.

I like computers and I want to get into coding but I can’t because the coding club is just for girls. People who defend this say that “Girls need to feel encouraged to code.” Yeah you can encourage girls to code but don’t exclude boys. It’s pretty backwards to say “I’m gonna fight sexism in STEM by being sexist.” Just imagine the outrage if they opened a boys only coding club and didn’t do one for girls. That thing would be shutdown in an instant. And girls not wanting to go into STEM is ok same with boys, it’s a choice. It’s not like “sorry you can’t attend this school of science because you don’t have a penis.” Nothing is stopping girls from doing STEM, most of the techy people I know are women.

So what do you guys think?
