The first thing I'm inclined to ask and I know this might sound like some ridiculous questions, but does this club actually teach code and what language do they teach?

I completely agree. Such BS.

I would first ask the school to start a coding club for boys or both.

I give them 7 days to announce it.

Afterwards, I'd go to the local news outlet and complain.

Start a petition and have everyone sign it. Remember that there are more girls in college than men and they still give special attention. Whenever have you seen a white boys only scholarship to college. As weird as that sounds, it's actually needed in this day and age.

I'd also post all over the internet in every forum I could. I'd mention the name of ht school and who I talked to that said this discriminatory practice was fine to do.

If you want to reman anonymous then just post on the internet anonymously about it.

I would not let them get away with it but it's your choice because it's your life. Good luck

Wow. I would love if schools had 'boys only' and 'girls only' clubs, but making it about something specific like this seems pretty wrong. On the other hand, male sports, but this feels different as the physical requirements are what separate sports based on gender. Women have the option if there is enough interest. If men tried to have a coding club, or any thing other based off of a skill for the brain, women would lose their minds.

I just read you are in Canada, in Canada this type of discrimination is legal under the human rights code. Start your own programming club, learn off of computers. You will likely surpass whatever they are teaching in their pancake cooking aka coding class.

Go to the school board. This is only legal if there is an equal ability for boys. The way women's only gyms can exist is that there is another gym that a man can use close by. Unless there is a coding club accessable to boys, they can't exclude you as gender is a protected class.

Same here but there is club for both now a school conciler runner who is a girl wants a girl rugby club when there is already a football club and dance club for girls
