I posted an article of this while it was in development but now that everything has concluded it seems like the disparity is still evident. I don't see how or why there's such a huge gap since they both seem like equal pieces of shits. This is why there we have statistics that show why men serve a longer time for the same crime.

What am I missing

In lieu of paying compensation of $17,850 to the two maids, Tay will have to serve another six weeks, while Chia will have to serve an additional five weeks and 10 days.

So, where I am from there are 7 days in a week, so why doesn't it say "Chia will have to serve 6 weeks and 3 days"

66% of of sentence for exactly the same crime.

It's usually 60% so this is actually a bit closer to equality than normal.

This is just the standard sentencing disparity. No reason to pick on a single case.
