It seems that you aren't really educated on feminist philosophy and are just jumping on board a trendy word and a concept. You might want to expand your understanding before you solidify your views.

The term "egalitarianism" predates the term "feminism" and is defined as a belief in equal rights regardless of gender. Feminism came about specifically to fight for women, not for equality. And while that might have been important at one point in time, we need egalitarianism back now. Feminists don't fight for men's issues, despite what they claim. They fight against men's issues, over and over and over again. (e.g. circumcision/male genital mutilation, father's rights, alimony issues, workplace and education equality)

Traditional ethics has a "male" orientated convention in which moral reasoning is viewed through a framework of rules, rights, universality, and impartiality and becomes the standard of a society. The "female" approaches to moral reasoning emphasizes relationships, responsibilities, particularity, and partiality.[2]

This is why there isn't room for "men's rights" in feminism. The men's rights movement is looking for gender equality with utilitarian/traditional ethics principles, and feminism is fighting for care ethics principles. These are in stark disagreement and completely incompatible.

Do you think impartiality in the legal and government system is important? Do you think people should be impartial when making decisions? If yes, you can't be a feminist. You can believe in equal rights, but your views don't align with feminist views.

Do you think laws should be applied universally? Do you think that if two people commit murder under similar circumstances, they should receive the same consequences, regardless of gender or life circumstances of the individuals? If yes, your views don't align with feminist philosophy, and you aren't really a feminist. You might be an egalitarian, but you aren't a feminist.

Do you believe that society should have a code of individual rights that society is obligated to protect - a list of freedoms that are protected? If yes, then your views don't align with feminist principles. You might still be egalitarian, but you aren't really feminist.

Stop jumping on the "feminism is about equality!" bandwagon and realize that there are deeper issues at play here.

Surely you mean by that 'considering what i have been told about how equality used to be' So I wonder, would it make any difference to your acceptance of feminism if you were to learn that you had been lied to?

What if feminism has been lying to children, teaching them that their grandfathers were monsters, teaching them, from earliest childhood, false history to make feminism seem just?

Would that matter at all to you? Or would you be like so many, unable to see the truth. Like a man who insists the earth was created 6000 years ago, because that is what they taught him in school.

In my experience, most MRA'S (but not all) once called themselves feminists (like Warren Farrell who was once on the board of NOW). However, when we started raising the issues of men and boys were harrassed and actively removed from the movement.

So, no feminism as a movement has made it clear that they have no room for men's issues.

Yes, very correct. And they will change the definition at will to fit the narrative being pushed.

I think one of the problems is that people can't unite under one label so to say.

The label 'feminism' is not representative of men and men's rights. If you want to unite all people under one label for the cause of equal rights - use equalitarian.

You have described an oxymoron. One can be for the rights of all people but feminists stand only for female supremacy.

According with my definition feminism is cancer and I/we don't want to catch something like that.

I hope you will not ask like your brothers and sister passing by here for 3 peer reviewed sources to prove that.

I think the best explanation of our view of feminism would just be for you to mention men’s rights on their sub. You may get downvoted from talking positively about feminism here, but talking positively about men’s rights over there, maybe even just mentioning it, is very likely to get you banned. At least here, if people disagree with you, they’ll try to discuss it with you, you shouldn’t need to silence the opposition if you believe your cause is right after all.
