Explain
[–]Gimpy1405 15 points16 points17 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I'm not the OP but I think I understand the core idea.
Feminism is a concentrated version of women's gender based complaints, aspirations, arguments...
By seeing those clarified, without so much static and noise, men can react more freely.
That's my guess at the intent of the OP's post.
[–]WiseMonkeyGoodMonkey 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So I think I see where OP was headed. But it's kind of a stretch. It might be true after some blatant legal, fiscal and social inequities have been addressed.

Naw, it's just feminist blather trying to validate themselves as "helping men".
See, he forgot the last part.
"And put us in a whole new set of chains...as bad as the last, just different."
[–]DukeStayne 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Feminists thought women had chains in the form of biological differences and legal standing. So they did their best to give women more responsibility and agency, change the legality of gender issues, and try to make things gender neutral.
After all those years of work, they will NEVER change the facts of man/woman biological differences. What they did do was help men.
Men have consistently done their duties as men, husbands, parents, soldiers, and taxpayers, for all of human history. Always saddled with the bill, always having the responsibility, always taking the blame. With the feminist movement, men don't have to be responsible for women anymore. With birth control and female promiscuity, men don't have to court and marry women, have children, and be responsible for families. With the change in legality, men don't have to take the bullet for everything.
The thing is, men always did those things without knowing. Because that's what needed to be done and men are doers. Now that men don't have to, they realize how much they couldn't see that was taken for granted.
Feminists view traditionalism as women being infantilized, but the counter side was that men had to be super responsible. Now, men don't have to be as responsible as before.

Exactly. Why should we cater to women for free? She can pay her own bill, and have her own career. We can even expect her to do that, and tie us staying in relationship to her doing that, to being good enough, all the time.
Now, we can actually have standards. And we should.

When we look deep at gender roles, we realize that the old system is good for women and the top ten percent or so of men. The bottom ninety percent of men have always had it bad. When women demand to be equal with the top ten percent of men, the vast majority of men begin to wake up to their own predicament. They have all the agency but none of the value. Women have value with no agency. Now they want to keep their assumed value and the agency insofar as it gives them more freedom but not when it means they shoulder more responsibility.
Not sure if I agree, but I assume the OP means something like the above paragraph.
Women have value
to some extend, yes. But most of that value - we can also get from other men. Just build lasting, close friendships, and you will get 90% of what relationship is. And sex? You can get a separate lover for that. Or several.

This does not make any sense at all
[–]jacksleepshere 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The more independent women are, the less responsibility men have for them. Except that isn’t entirely true. Divorce used to be nigh on impossible.
No divorce if you dont marry, lol.

I think he is trying to say classic gender roles were worse for men. So feminism destroying gender roles has shown men how awful female nature is? Idk i disagree i just want an actual 1940 feminine homemaker woman who can't destroy my life if her dumbass friend convinces her she is missing out on being single. I don't really care that "my life might be worse then her in classic gender roles" because that is what i'm evolved to want and do want.
I dont really going to listen to somone telling me when my life is going to be better or worse. I decide on that, lol.
Especially if its a woman telling me what and how to be regarding man-woman relationships, lol.

The idea, I think, is that feminism freed men from traditionalism. e.g. women work more, instead of taking all their money from men. Which is kinda true but it's complicated. Feminism replaces it with their own discrimination, e.g. forcing men to pay women through the government.

It turns out you can just put any words in any order you want.

But it's the actions we really notice i would say and thats why women, in the whole, have lost their status ... which had once be high ... for men, thats it :)
[–]Lion_amongst_gods 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Even if I think I understand, it hasn't freed men yet. It's just showed men the chains.
[–]MezzoMix70 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Feminism revealed the true nature of females. Slowly but steadily Men got aware about the manipulative ways of (many if not most) women. Men slowly got aware that (many if not most) women do not love Men when marrying them, but their interests are much more selfish. Slowly but steady Men learned that Women are not helpless little angels, the only ones with compassion for their children .. not the only ones who can become victims, the only ones who can show compassion. While Men learned it all very very slowly, they freed themselves from the chains the gynocracy held them by and they saw themselves as being important as well. And with that, all that stuff like chivalry, putting females on a pedestal, being the total gentleman to women ... went out of the window. The chains are gone.

We still wear the chains...even if we don't marry them we still pay the bills through taxes. Government becomes the new husband and we pay the costs of feminist fantasy.
[–]theoracleofosiris 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Feminism has freed men. It revealed to men before the excesses of female nature BEFORE they married and also has made it socially acceptable for men not to marry.
With feminism’s push for women to make money, even though the men pay more taxes than women, the proportion of women paying has gone up compared to the past simply because more women now work compared to then.

Brilliant quote.
[–]paracog[🍰] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Wise men have understood the chains of being a husband and father for centuries, and have responded by withdrawing from economic and political life, instead living close to nature and usually in beautiful buildings. Taking a personal vow of poverty removed them from the sights of women looking for a plow horse.
yep. Women were empowered, but that also empowered men in the process, even more. Which is good for us, and well...too bad for women, lol.
Women attained the sexual freedom they wanted. Cool. We attained the possibility to get easy sex, too. With not much of a hassle of building a relationship, and without societal scorn. Which empowered us not to build those relationships unless we explicitly need them in our life.
Women got a chance not to give a fuck. Good. But we can now do the same, literally. We dont have to think that our worth is if we have a woman in our lives - its where we put it for ourselves.
