Does anyone have an appropriate example where equality between men and women is inaplicable or considered not beneficial in general to all parties involved

Anyone who needs to be strong enough to carry 25 kilos of gear through a burning building and still be strong enough to rescue my ample ass. There is a reason that very few women can pass old school firefighter physical exams.

Anyone who needs to sprint a LMG with 2 boxes of ammo and 25 kilos of gear through rugged terrain to lay down suppressive fire to save my pinned down ass. There is a reason that even fewer women can pass the infantry test.

If a woman can make it? Sure. Let her in by all means. But equality of outcome is deadly in either situation.

It depends entirely on what you define as 'equality', feminists for example when they talk about equality really mean equality as outcome while the majority of us who talk about equality mean equal opportunity. You first have to define that in order to find out what you really think society ought to be like, for example, I think women should be allowed to serve in the military. I don't think though that they should lower the standards for women if they can't even make it past basic training purely to get more women in.

Equality of outcome should never be considered as a goal outside of scientific experiments in controlled environments. This is because it is actively harmful to potential equality of opportunity by using discrimination to control results (the antithesis of allowing everyone an equal chance).

Equality of opportunity should be only applied in a fair and proportionate way and should never be absolute.

Two everyday examples:

A single-sex school should not be made into a place that accommodates both sexes because it's scientifically proven that each sex differs (on average) from different teaching styles, this compromises the potential optimal teaching style of both girls and boys, making everyone worse off as a result.
Fraternity groups wouldn't benefit from having equality of opportunity between men and women due to historical practices, ceremonies and the like. Everything would have to change and then the order would no longer be true/consistent to its own practices as a fraternity. Women wouldn't experience "the real thing" and men wouldn't either.

Public policy vs social behaviour

In India, we have this brilliant ^/s law that says a publicly traded company should have at least one woman in the board of directors. Of late, companies blatantly place advantages for women in hiring for high-skill positions. All this to improve gender balance or something in the workplace. The problem is that it reflects in the society, as the average woman doesn't marry downwards (in age or wage) and the average man doesn't marry upwards. This leads to people (both men and women) finding it hard to get partners (be it through matrimonial services or even through romance) in their window of romantic or reproductive peak. People end up having to sacrifice family for career (or vice versa). This affects the demographics of the country (albeit slowly).

Equality of Opportunity is great. Forced Equal Outcomes is bad.

That being said some responsibilities (i.e. The Draft) should apply to all who can vote and it should be applied equally i.e. Female Draftees should be mandated to serve in front line combat roles during draft periods.
