Disclaimer to start off with: I'm not from USA and not a native English speaker. Some regulations and how to deal with situations will be different from where you are if you are USA based. I'll try to be as clear as possible but am also apprehensive about giving too much detail. Thanks in advance.

So we are going through a lot lately. A month ago my brother-in-law, the brother of my husband, passed away. He didn't have a wife or kids. Their parents had passed away already so now my husband is "the only one left", of his family. We had to arrange for the funeral, and are still busy with the house and everything financial regarding BIL's company, inheritance and more. Meanwhile life goes on. We have kids and both had birthdays during this period, plus a myriade of other changes and activities. A couple of days ago we had another death in the family, my husbands aunt. The funeral will be next week, but husband won't be able to attend because he will be abroad unfortunately.

All these events, plus an already too high amount of work related stress, have burned me out and drained me to the point that I am currently not able to work (normally I work 3 days a week).

I want to be there for my husband and support him in his grief. I'm also grieving myself. The kids are also feeling the effects and are trying to make sense of their (not old) uncle being dead, in their own way.

I have a hard time keeping on top of housework, I only do the bare minimum. Laundry is piling up, kids toys are being tossed into the playroom on the floor.

I have very little energy and I am trying to recover during the day (when I would be at work normally) so that I can be there for him at night. I just started seeing a therapist to help me sort out my thoughts and emotions and get back on my feet.

I am trying to be as supportive as possible. He is not the type of man to talk about what bothers him so when he does, I make sure I listen. I offered to help him out with paperwork or other tasks but he seems more comfortable doing it alone. I respect that but at the same time I'm feeling inadequate right now. I want to be strong for him and be there for him. But I'm also dealing with my own emotions and being overstressed right now and it is difficult.

Would this be a "put on your own oxygen mask first" situation or do I need to toughen up more?

What can I do to help a man cope with grief?

Additional advice?

Thanks for listening.

Edit: Maybe it helps to know he's an ENTP and I am INFJ.
