My GF was shocked to learn that I've applied for hundreds of jobs over the last few years and only gotten a handful of response. Meanwhile, she said she's only applied for 10 jobs in her entire life and gotten 9 of them. She thought it was my resume, but I had a professional go over it a while back and when I sent it to her to look over it was so good she had no advice at all.

My job guy says women are a whole lot more easier to find jobs for. People don’t hire gruff grisly guys(like me) for offices or retail or hospitality. Once our bodies break(like mine) that’s really it for us.

I wonder why companies want brownie points called diversity instead of having a meritocracy based selection so the company doesn't waste time and money.

Most businesses and government departments in Australia & maybe elsewhere have gender quotas that favour women applicants. So of course a woman is more likely to get hired. It is irrelevant whether she is the best candidate or the man has more skills experience or qualifications, he will miss out simply coz he is not a woman.
