Well the wage gap was debunked and kicked out years ago with the Equal pay act and other such measures. The gap most studies find these days is an Earnings gap not a Wage gap. Wage is what your paid before bonuses and other jaz that would increase your Earnings. Earnings is what you've made through wage PLUS the bonuses. I've yet to read a "Wage Gap Study" that finds a gap and doesn't toss definitions out the window to push an agenda. A lot of studies will equate Earnings to Wage and use them interchangeably but that's wrong and invalidates the study.

Now as said Earnings is where the gap is actually found. The gap in Earnings is found because Women do not have the same Work Ethic as Men. They do not work as much overtime or put as much of themselves into their jobs as men. We know all of this from Public Data from Government sites and unless you purposely ignore the definitions there is no Wage gap that isn't explained by Women's choices.

Think about this for a second. What is Prager U?

Are they a University? No.

Are they a scientific consensus representing multiple universities? No.

Are they in any shape, form, or fashion related to any one or multiple specific universities? No.

So why is it "Prager U"? Why is that the name?

What does Prager U define itself as? From the Prager U website:

We take the best ideas from the best minds and distill them into short videos. Our comprehensive digital marketing campaign promotes the ideas that have made America and the West the source of so much liberty and wealth. These values are Judeo-Christian at their core and include the concepts of freedom of speech, free markets and love for our country—The United States of America.

In short Prager U is a conservative advertising agency. Now, there is nothing wrong with being conservative. There is nothing wrong with being an advertiser. But would you trust McDonalds if they said you needed to eat 3 McFlurries a day to maintain a healthy diet?

Back to the point "why is the name Prager U?" Simply put the U is to convey a sense of informed opinion. It is meant to convey a sense of intelligence. It is meant to deceive conservatives into thinking their opinions are more informed than they really are.

That is not to say that Prager U is wrong about everything. But they just aren't a reliable source of information. Feel free to use them as a jumping off point into learning new ideas and concepts, but never use them as a credible source.

Prager U is basically the fox news of YouTube, I myself am a centrist, but oh my God are they biased, while no form of media is free from bias, it is an outlets duty to acknowledge that at least some of what they spread is inevitably going to be opinionated, ofcourse opinions can be made valid if backed up by facts, but the problem with prager U is that while they don't straight up lie, they use half truths and data that is taken out of context to reach a predetermined conclusion, and they never list sources whenever showing data that they claim to be the result of a study or a research, that is why they're very unreliable as a source, couse they never use sources in the first place, I myself used to watch them religiously, they sound like the sound of reason on the surface but once you dig a little deeper, you start to smell something vile and rotten, and they depend on their audience only taking information from them, they rely on the people that won't make a Google search to fact check what they say, why would they? Their half truths run along with reality just enough to convince people that they are accurate while actually being prager U's interpretation of what happened.

Source for what? I’m not disagreeing with the wage gap myth, I just saying Prager U is a dog shit source and shouldn’t be taken seriously on any subject.

It exists if you remove all context, logic, reason, and humanity from it.

The pay gap exists because of many factors. The 0.79 myth ignores many of those factors. Here's a few:

1) Women tend to consider whole job offers rather than just pay. I.E. Women tend to pick a $40,000 job with a $5,000 benefits package. Men tend to pick a job with $43,000 and no benefits package. Those benefits were not enumerated in the study because many of them are subjective.

2) Women tend to choose fields that emphasize community and interpersonal growth. Men choose job fields because their earning potential is more. I.E. Women will choose nursing, teaching, and civil service. Men choose coal miner, police officer, and garbage man.

3) Men are more willing to choose jobs that involve personal risk of self (i.e. mining, police officer, fireman, combat military)

4) Men are more willing to accept jobs with isolation components (i.e. petroleum engineer for a deep sea oil rig, cruise liner, merchant marines)

5) Men are more willing to take on financial burdens to accomplish financial goals. I.E. Men are more likely to take out heavy loans to start a business, women are more likely to seek out investors. This creates a confirmation bias. The men that succeed gain more, but you don't hear about the men that failed and lost everything. The women that succeed gain less, but you don't consider that the many women that failed and lost very little.

6) Men are more willing to perform work in a job they hate just because it has earning potential. Women are more likely to specifically map out their career for a long time in advance and take into account personal well being. I.E. Men who choose STEM fields stay in STEM field despite having less than half of the scholarship opportunities of women. Women are more likely to change college careers out of STEM (usually to liberal arts) despite having more than twice the available scholarships available to them.
