There is a huge NPO in my country, with more than 15K direct and not direct volunteers. And to better illustrate, the role is like a regional manager, responsible to coordinate a huge area and more than 100 volunteers during one of our projects. The thing is i know some people who question my position because i only started participating last year while they are there for at least 4 years or so, waiting to be in that position.
I am somewhat young [21], and wanted to know if this is what jealousy, fighting for power looks like. One of my friends said straight to my face that she doesn't agree with me in that position and well, because i skipped some major steps, i couldn't say it was nonsense her thinking.
I know that i got a bit luck to have a friend who was volunteer for more than 8 years, and he assigned to me an important task last year (something like financial manager of our region). But this year position is solely based on my last year performance. So i know that they contacted me for the role because i did good before.
So, I'm not questioning my potential because i know i can do a really great job. But these feeling i'm feeling are totally new to me.
TL;DR: Assigned to a big role but new to the company, colleagues with more time jealous of me.
