Feminists: damn men and their... * shuffles cards * ... insistence on clear, unambiguous consent.

[–]MRA-Sid 35 points36 points37 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminists don’t want men to be happy, live peacefully. False accusations are their biggest weapon against men to destroy.

Who knew we would live to see a day where Dave Chappelle’s love contract is something we would seriously need for protection

Labelling the app as misogynist and toxic masculinity is disgusting. Yet another way to vilify men.

The app was misguided, it came from a good place. The idea of forming a consensual contract meant that both parties would be focusing on consent and that’s a good thing in principle. It doesn’t work though, it is very flawed and at best a token. As they said, consent could be forged, or signed electronically and then retracted with no electronic support, so many ways it doesn’t work.

They were just wrong in trying to use it as a solution, not hateful.

[–][deleted] 26 points27 points28 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

you would think the app would be applauded because it shows that men require clear consent before a hook up.... but no, since it's used to prevent "regret rape" it's a problem.

ffs.

[–]bufedad 36 points37 points38 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You misunderstand. This was an attempt to protect men... that's hateful to women.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You ever notice that when something is called misogynist etc, there's never any actual justification provided? I mean, you expect "this is misogynist because <reason showing something demonstrates hatred of women>", but it's just used as some vague, nebulous term that they throw out whenever their feelings are hurt.

[–]AtticusReznor 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Calling something or someone misogynist is the quickest way to shame and silence men. It puts you in a no win situation. If you are silenced, then the view that it is misogynist prevails, if you fight back then you are the misogynist they spoke of.

We have to fight back and suffer the consequences, silence does us far more harm.

[–]DJ-Roukan 36 points37 points38 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What part of this are you guys not understanding?

This has zero to do with eqauality, equal opportunity, protecting women or anything else.

It is an agenda of hate. Buy a copy of Mien Kampf. Read it, but replace the word "jew" with "male", the word Aryan with woman, and everything will become clear.

Know why this happens? Cos feminists are terrified of the truth coming out-that, contrary to myth, women 'victims' DO lie about rape. Often.

[–]Tatrer 8 points9 points10 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"I can’t think of one woman who would be okay with having her sex life indefinitely tracked online where the information can be hacked, leaked, or used as blackmail," she said.

But if the woman has a change of heart she can force the man to have to register with the state and be tracked for the rest of his life. Seems fair

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

all you gotta do is modify the app so that the female party can retract her consent at anytime. then they'll be on board with it.

[–]staticsnake 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I picture her in bed on her app waiting to hit the button. She pushes it. His phone beeps. He opens it and it says "CONSENT WITHDRAWN! PLEASE STOP SEXUAL ACTIVITY IMMEDIATELY!"

He stops.

She hits the button again.

His phone beeps. He reads the app: "CONSENT REACTIVATED. PLEASE PROCEED TO HAVE FUN AGAIN."

lol

[–]Folamh3 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The bizarre thing for me is, it isn't even the first app of its type.

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 7 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Canada has ruled that such things aren't legal anyway, because a legal document agreeing to be fucked counts as "past history" or something - and compares it to those mythical judges and cops going "you were wearing a skirt so you were asking for it".

I think it's time for a blanket, absolute sex strike. Not that women would care ("Oh, thank God! FINALLY some peace and quiet!") and some would make nasty comments ("oh no, not missing out on a gross thing that is three inches long and lasts two seconds!") but this might very well redpill a ton of men.

No sex? Well, that means.... what exactly? It means relationships between men and women would go more towards relationships between men and men. Which means men would look at most women and say "wow, what a bunch of users and parasites."

[–]U21U6IDN 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Contracts in relation to sex are not binding, anywhere. It's a big deal in the BDSM realm if a person is serious about their "tastes" in sexual activities.

However, if one wants to document consent in a way that is binding, having one's date attest to consent before AND after is indisputable.

It's why some pornos will interview the participant before and after. In the initial interview they will attest to wanting to do these things. In the post interview they will attest to having wanted to do these things.

So, remember boys, always text your date afterwards to make sure she had a good time.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, there's a difference in between running a business (which governments are cool with, they pay taxes) and being able to virtue signal to women.

[–]PresidentYang 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The chance of a successful “sex strike” initiated by men is roughly the same chance as you continuing your bloodline

I have a friend who attends the same university. Apparently this email was circulated in response:

To whom it may concern,

We are emailing in regard to the forwarded “Urgent” email that students of the Computer Science department have received regarding a request for a mobile app developer. We were shocked to read the description of the application called ‘Consent’ being developed by Medical students.

As women in the Computer Science Masters Programme, we came to UCD to seek knowledge and further our interest in a field that we are still battling to compete in as there is still a significant gender imbalance.

Firstly, the idea of the app seems to be aimed towards men and only caters to men as the email describes "the ever growing fear" of being falsely accused of sexual harassment.

Secondly, to place consent into a mobile application, in our opinion is utterly and completely unacceptable for many reasons. A party (be a man or woman) can retract that consent at any time during a sexual act and have the freedom too, as stated in our laws. By creating an app and encouraging that it could be a favourable proof of evidence in court to protect these men or women, is not valid as:

• Data can be altered/hacked

• The victim can be forced/ threatened/ persuaded into consenting on the app

• Data can be lost

• Anyone with the permissions can access the devices and the application without the victim knowing.

Handling something as important as consent cannot be placed onto a mobile app, it may even backfire on those that are being falsely accused and are in "fear" in the first place.

When the accuser can just open the app (which might be just a swipe button placed or a finger print scan) to confirm a retracted consent.

I have attached the email below with the details of the student that sent out the email and hope that he/she/they are informed of the anger, distress and shock that he/she/they have placed upon many of the women and men by its notion of the mobile application being a legitimate option for consent.

If there is any advice that can be offered or action to be called, it would be helpful in this matter as we would wish to steer anyone away from pursuing such an app or idea.

Your Sincerely,

[–]__pulsar 10 points11 points12 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Firstly, the idea of the app seems to be aimed towards men and only caters to men as the email describes "the ever growing fear" of being falsely accused of sexual harassment

So. Fucking. What.

There are so many things that cater only to women.

The app may or may not be a bad idea, but to throw this in with the other arguments is ridiculous.

[–]Folamh3 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Firstly, this app which allows the user to track their menstrual cycle only caters to women, and as a man I feel excluded by it."

[–]Trentrocity -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They actually make a lot of good points.

[–]Folamh3 7 points8 points9 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They're criticising the idea of an app being used as a medium to demonstrate that sexual consent was freely given.

But we already use apps and computer programs to carry out actions which require consent every day: purchases, bank transfers, signing binding legal contracts etc.

[–]tyjuji 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

People consent to cookies and personalized ads multiple times a day. I'm not particularly for the idea, but it's certainly possible, if people wanted it to work.

[–]Fly_Guy_97 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Lmfao I’m telling you that if there is a potential instance it could negatively impact a woman they will shut it down instantly. It’s an agenda for hate against men.

We are gonna see something HUGE within the next decade at this rate. Countries are going to have to attempt to encourage men to get married and breed very similar to what happened in (Denmark?)

Buckle up and stay safe gentlemen

[–]valenin 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don’t know about Denmark but the Japanese government is shitting itself because young people aren’t having kids. But there’s definitely an attempt being made there to head off the catastrophe it’ll cause if allowed to continue.

[–]Beardie-Boi-420 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Damn, the girl in my class could be responsible for this, we are Irish how could we take this shit under our shirts

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It wouldn’t really work anyways because someone could just steal a victims phone.

[–]masterdebator300 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This makes me angry enough to go mgtow.

[–]tableender 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The app means nothing. She could sign it and six months later lie to claim she repatedly said stop after half way through and he continued and ignored her.

Rape charge.

Even a post sex signature can be said to have been under duress or shock.

Rape charge

Basically any woman, especially one you have only just met and don't know well, can pretty much destroy your life any time she wants to after the event. You have to ask yourself if hook up culture would exist if men could destroy women's lives by simply complaining after the act. Women that have had a drink are toxic for decent young men and should be avoided at all costs.

Swap numbers and call the next day.

[–]HomerrJFong 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

This app is seriously a terrible idea. Most of the complaints are completely legitimate.

This app would not protect anyone from rape allegations and might even make it easier for a rapist to get away with a crime (by forcing the user to consent or forcing sex acts that weren't consensual after they received the initial consent).

If the goal is to protect men from false rape allegations, a cause I strongly believe in, this app will not accomplish it.

[–]atred -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I don't know why people think that there's always a technology solution to a social problem.

[–]valenin 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Because technical solutions are easier than social ones.

[–]atred 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes, if it fits the social interaction and the use case, if the technology doesn't fit is useless. A chat app for example helps with communicating at distance, but it doesn't solve the problem if the other person doesn't want to interact with you.

You cannot have a "how not to steal/kill" app that would solve that societal problem, or a "get money for free" app. Technology can indirectly raise the standard of living and that might improve the stats for crimes, but that's not exactly what I was talking about.

For example there has been recently a controversy about Google app for women in Saudi Arabia to get approval for male guardian to travel, the technology helps them to do that, but does it solve the societal problem of women having to ask travel permission from men? In this case you have to fix society first, not the technology. Same goes with this dating app, you have to fix society first (if possible) having people sign papers (or use an app to that effect) before having sex won't solve absolutely anything, people can be forced to sign papers, consent can be withdrawn, so this is not a "technology" that can even help reduce number of rapes or accusations of rapes, it's useless and pretty stupid.

[–]valenin 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I get it. I didn’t say technical solutions were better than social ones. Just easier.

[–]staticsnake -3 points-2 points-1 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Swap the gender roles. It makes no difference. The app is stupid. The outrage towards it is stupid. The outrage towards the outrage is stupid. People need better problems. Nobody forces you to use an app. Nobody forces you to date people who think this way. Nobody forces you to grab obscure articles about a dumb incident at one university and apply it as if it has meaning for all women or all feminists everywhere.

I swear, this sub loses its collective mind daily over fears of some anti-man world that I just personally have never experienced. It's mostly in your head. Your average person does not give a shit about these extremist problems. Your average guy and girl do not have these fears about consent.

[–]dentastic101[S] 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You obviously have not being paying attention to this issue. It's been going on for a number of years. The whole concent drama came out of American colleges, it moved to the UK and Aus, it's been an issue here in Ireland for a while now. The concent app idea is not a new one there are such apps in your play store right now.

You are right, most people dont have to worry about consent until you do have to worry about it.

A guy and a girl go out have 3 drinks each, go home have sex. They were both very much into it, now the feminists insist the girl is unable to give consent its irrelevant what the guy thought, he is now guilty of rape regardless of the fact they were both drinking. Don't you think it's a good idea for a guy to protect himself? The girl can months or even years later complain that she was raped and ruin the boy's life.

The uproar from feminists it because they dont want men to have any protection when accused of sexual assault or harassment.

Here is a story from reddit today, it's an example of how men are treated with no evidence

..............

Well this is a doozy.

I live in California. About 8 months ago me and a coworker started snapchatting each other. We had no relationship whatsover outside of work, and rarely talked to each other. I could tell she was interested in me, but I had a girlfriend at the time. With time I gave in to the temptation and I invited her over to my place one day, to which she agreed. I had made her aware that I had a relationship already.

Once she arrived to my place we spent sometime talking to each other and overall a good vibe. We didn't drink, smoke , or take anything mind-altering. I invited her over to go upstairs to my room, to which she accepted. Once in my room we started making out, I asked her if she wanted to take a step further and she said yes. We had sex that day and the day after.

Afterwards, I could tell she started to get feelings for me because of messages she sent me, again through Snapchat. Things like "no one has ever made me feel the way you did" or " I had a great time, it'd been a while since my last one :)". So I decided to make it clear nothing was going to happen between us.

This is when things changed. She got very upset and after a couple things were said, nothing major, she asked me to stop talking to her. We didn't talk for about 4 days when a coworker that's friends of hers approached me at work. He asked me to stop trying to talk to her and told me that she had not wanted anything to happen between me and her and that she was regretting it. I didn't want to make much of it or make it bigger, so I just accepted and told him I wouldn't talk to her anymore.

Fast forward a couple of weeks, and another coworker of mine came up to me to let me know that there was a rumor going around that I had raped her. Up until then, we hadn't been talking to each other. I should've just brought this up to management at that point but going to my boss to tell him that I didn't "rape" a coworker wasn't on my favorite things to do. I went up to her to ask her to stop the rumor, and when I did she just yelled at me saying " I WONT HAVE ANY MORE SEX WITH YOU" which freaked me out and I just decided to leave her alone.

Fast forward to yesterday. 8 months passed by and nothing came of it. I arrive at work and I get called into the HR office. They tell me there's been an allegation against me that she feels uncomfortable working with me and that it's because of a "rape". I've been put on paid suspension and i'm waiting for a call telling me the result of the investigation. I'm not allowed on premises or to talk to anyone from work. I don't know what could've triggered this or even if it was her to have done this. She has a boyfriend who's also a coworker, but me and her have not spoken to each other for about 6 months. I don't know what to do, but I really don't want to lose my job or get my name thrown in the dirt. Please help.

Whatever comes out of the US and UK colleges makes it way here in the end.

A small example from my own past, I was at a radio station after work party in Dublin city centre. I met a very good friend there, he introduced me to some of his work colleagues.

I got talking to one guy who was very angry about an issue and I didn't agree with him on his point. This upset him greatly, to the stage it might get physical. I went and sat down with my mate to get away from him. A little while later a girl came and sat next to me, I wasn't paying much attention as I was talking to my mate about his crazy colleague.

The next moment the girl who sat down jumps up and said I was touching her back and arse, my back was pretty much to her this would have been very difficult! She shouted and made a scene, security came over, I protested my innocence as did my mate. No good. My mate was getting embarrassed as some of his colleagues were still there. I was humiliated but had to leave because the girl was making such a song and dance about it. I was not drunk as it wasn't even 7.30 yet but because I was a man I'm guilty.

A few weeks later my mate told me he'd heard his colleague had set it up because I pissed him off. The girl was friendly with the guy and had no problem doing it to me a complete stranger.

I'd would advise all men to at least have a voice memo app and record dates with new people.

[–]staticsnake -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'd would advise all men to at least have a voice memo app and record dates with new people.

In some places it is illegal to record people without their knowledge and consent and would not be admissable in court. This is also creepy.

You can spout off all you want, but I have yet to see a need for all this fear in my dating life and I've even been with a lot of feminist-leaning people. Nobody who's a normal adult has consent issues. These are rare stories involving some kind of psychopaths, and you're just fear-mongering here.
