It's not just burden of proof and beyond reasonable doubt; you have aggravating factors and mitigating factors. Unfortunately "male" seems to be an aggregating factor and "female" a mitigating one

The term you are looking for is burden of proof; evidentiary standards are for how evidence in a legal proceeding is handled.

Australia uses the same burden of proof as the British system it is based on for criminal proceedings and that is that the prosecution must prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.

This kind of post isn’t a good look though. In cases of a sensitive nature (especially those regarding abuses committed against minors) it is rare for the public to see most of the evidence. Trying to say that there wasn’t enough evidence to convict someone in cases like this is probably very wrong (just because you personally haven’t seen evidence doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist) and ultimately harmful as it could allow other monsters doing things like this to avoid justice.

If someone who is so well connected and protected is convicted of a crime this heinous, there was likely clear and convincing evidence.
