It's not as bad as it seems, though. From Wikipedia:

"The documentary explores what it regards as a "pedophilia hysteria" and argues there is a "witch-hunt" against men. Furthermore, it argues that in an effort to protect children, society has begun to isolate men. The film suggests that all men are viewed as potential pedophiles and examines the political and social consequences of that assumption."

It's still pretty bad, but it's not the worst thing ever.

I get that no one wants their child to experience sexual abuse or sexual exploitation and it's a serious crime. What I dont get is why we cant adress the topic in a civilized way: Be open about it.

From what i gathered: Sex offenders whose targets were minors are not even pedophile for a good percentile of the time (over 25%). That's often overlooked. That doesnt mean that the majority of offenders arent pedophile, but it does mean that not every offense is done by one (still a serious crime).

That means we need to find ways to help those people vent their emotions in other ways than targeting their young ones (its more likely to be harmed by someone we know).

On the other hand: we need to stop assuming that anyone who works with kids has a bad intention in the first place. I saw someone here posting about needing to do an unscientific test on men (and only men) that tries to predict wether one was pedophile or not because the job required to get close to children. I hope somewhere in the future we can just honestly ask for it, because in most cases it's treatable if problematic and easy security meassures can prevent incidents.

That means we have to stop assuming stuff and also discriminate against people that can openly accept the way they are.
