USA: George Washington University School of Nursing launches chapter of the American Association for Men in Nursing (AAMN) to break down gender stereotypes within the profession and support men in nursing
No reason for the /s. It would be more reasonable, however, to continue to advocate for the full removal of barriers to men entering, and succeeding in, the nursing profession. Note the goals of the AAMN as stated on their website:
AAMN Objectives include:
Encourage men of all ages to become nurses and join together with all nurses in strengthening and humanizing health care.
*Support men who are nurses to grow professionally and demonstrate to each other and to society the increasing contributions being made by men within the nursing profession.
*Advocate for continued research, education and dissemination of information about men's health issues, men in nursing, and nursing knowledge at the local and national levels.
*Support members' full participation in the nursing profession and it's organizations and use this Association for the limited objectives stated above.
Patients expressing a preference for female nurses over males when receiving health care.
Female nurses expressing reluctance to work with male nurses (assuming if and when that happens).
Hospital HR departments potentially expressing an unconscious bias in favor of hiring female nurses when an equally competent male candidate is available (again assuming if and when that happens).
High school teachers and guidance counsellors not knowing enough about nursing as a career option for male high school students.

I did a quick search for "male nurse" on Google in the news tab, this is what came up:
https://www.google.co.kr/search?q=male+nurse&safe=off&source=lnms&tbm=nws&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjF2pqY3JXfAhVGwLwKHSZADxMQ_AUIDygC&biw=1366&bih=657
Out of ten links on the front page, seven of them were news stories about male nurses committing crimes or wanted for abusing patients.
Now, compare that to a search for the term "female nurse" under the news tab:
https://www.google.co.kr/search?safe=off&biw=1366&bih=657&tbm=nws&ei=VpkOXPPCEYqU8wWo-oq4BQ&q=female+nurse&oq=female+nurse&gs_l=psy-ab.12...146272.147700.0.149658.7.6.0.0.0.0.502.1315.0j1j3j5-1.5.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..3.0.0....0.rokqhxhA-cI
Clearly, there is some bias against male nurses, at least in the journalism profession.
