Anyone with half a brain will know “lookism” is a thing. Attractive people have an easier time finding dates, this is no surprise.
Similarly, there is no way you can argue that refusing to date someone based solely on their race isn’t racist.
This isn’t called being an incel, it’s called having common sense.
And considering dating is a personal choice that has to be unregulated, there’s not much that can be done about racism or lookism.
But I do think any dating profiles that say shit like “No Asians”, “No blacks”, “No trannies”, etc should have these messages removed by the dating site. That’s borderline hate speech imo.
Feminists often forget that men are victims of discrimination too.
From google: Racism: the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.
Excluding every single person from a given racial group from dating you without even considering them is racism. Are you seriously telling me that you can’t name one person from each race that is decent looking? There is a difference between saying that certain races may be more attractive on average, and that you’d just exclude all members of X race based on their skin color.
You’re allowed to have these preferences, but they are racist preferences. Who said preferences and racism are mutually exclusive?
In addition, you should have the decency to at least keep those thoughts to yourself.
An online dating profile is a public space anyone else can access. Would you wear a sign or a shirt in public proclaiming that black people are dumb or Asians are ugly? I wouldn’t think so...
Quite the strawman. Brocoli are not sentient, so it's not like they'd be offended.
Look, all I said is that refusing to date an entire race without exception is an example of racist preferences and you'd be a better person by keeping that to yourself.
A lot of restaurants used to refuse to serve black people. Were they just exercising their own preferences? Regardless of the general trends (the argument could be made that black customers might be more troublesome on average), you shouldn't exclude everyone from a given group. If that's not racism I don't know what is.
Generically stating that you do not prefer to date a certain race does not imply any particular reason.
Pray tell, what are these "generic" reasons for excluding specific races? Give some examples.
The fact that I brought up restaurants is not a complete straw man. Regardless of whatever your "generic" motives are, businesses in the US are not allowed to refuse service based on race, color, religion, national origin or disability- regardless of what you "generically" think of X race or X religion, etc.
Dating discrimination isn't currently covered under law, but I think it should in the future based on precedent. You can refuse to date someone based on their behavior or appearance etc. But refusing to even consider any individual from X race is racism, and not allowed in almost any other business.
This subreddit is about the rights of all men. Dismissing racism that men of color face on online dating does not fit the tone of this sub imo

wtf I think I'll just agree to disagree.
