Interesting situation here:
Since I last posed a question, I've dumped the LTR for being ungrateful, and have been getting back into the practice of dating. It's been interesting.
I recently found out (from texting her) that an acquaintance broke up with her long term boyfriend - I've been attracted to her for a while, but never made a move because we we're both in LTRs. Not sure if she'd be receptive, but wanted to ask her out. Not sure how to though -
Additional context: We've hung out, in mixed company 4-5 times, every other month or so. So definitely not in orbiter status. But also am not "new" to her. I hit her up to make some plans to see a show, and found out she was single when I invited her boyfriend along.
Haven't responded yet - do I give the standard sympathy line and circle back in a bit? Or just say something flip, like "Great, now I can ask you out for drinks ;)"?
