How do I combat such a thing? There is already a glass ceiling for males in this organization. In our very STEM department, the overall population is 80/20 males, but the management is 80/20 female. This is yet another step to demonize the men and justify the overreaching affirmative action.

Notice how they call competition as negative and cooperation as positive, YET, it's been proven countless times that women are much more interested in men who rise above others through competition.
It's a classic example of feminist hypocrisy, where the toxic ideas of how men SHOULD be, don't hold up to what men and women really want from men.
It's just like how Jennifer Siebel Newsom's documentary says that masculinity is problematic, and they had a panel on it hosted by Maria Shriver.
They presented male competition as a bad thing that should be eliminated, yet look at the men those women chose. Did they choose nice, cooperative, beta males? No, both chose powerful politicians as spouses. Shriver also had an affair (while married to Arnie) with another powerful political player, who was one of Arnie's team no less.
P.S., teams have their place. Working together toward a mutual goal is a great place for teaming up.
Male competition ALSO has its place for INDIVIDUAL goals, such as mate selection. Males (not just humans, not by far -- this is why Peterson uses lobsters as an example) compete for the "best" female they can get, and females also rely on male competition to determine which male has the highest value.
To be against competition is utter nonsense and a REALLY bad idea.

I’m guessing the owners don’t want to spook the current leadership so they call it ‘masculinity contests’ instead of the more appropriate ‘leadership contests’. If people in the same company are exhibiting independent leadership traits you need to promote them or get them better leaders who can build cohesion.
