Is there a point to the claim that women only kill in self defense?

It's demonstrably false that women never kill and absurdist to claim it's only ever in self-defense. Statistically men are more likely to kill. This isn't a moral indictment of the gender.

But there is a sexist bias towards seeing men as being more likely to be perpetrators and women as more likely to be victims*, and I'm sure defense cases built around the idea that the murder suspect was an abuse victim carry more weight with judges and juries than they would the other way around.

*You can find statistical ways that this is true but it's not the point: it doesn't tell you anything about whether an individual man or woman is guilty, as with the article above.

Well obviously no it's not legitimate to assume a defendant is innocent based on nothing but how they were born. It's a bigoted violation of the 14th amendment and 5th amendment. However that's usually not exactly what happens. First of all women might not get charged to begin with or the police may never suspect them. But if they are charged the abuse defense isn't actually a defense but just something that might give a lesser sentence or get the prosecutor to charge with a lesser crime.

Obviously it's also not true that women never kill

As for why people are prejudiced against men, that's a wider question.

Are women not more likely than men to kill children? There have also been plenty of women serial killers acting as either a sole operator or as the primary operator. So it seems women are quite capable of being murderers themselves, that a load of excuses will be made is neither here or there.

It's very hard to support the idea that a group is morally superior or inferior than others.

Women are people. People sometimes commit crimes, therefore women sometimes commit crimes.

Women commit crimes for all sorts of reason, as men who commit crimes also do.

For every person who committed a crime you will finde others in the same situation that didn't committed a crime.

So, if a woman murder her husband and says it was in self-defense because he hitted her you will be able to find many wives who's husbands hitted them who choosed to leave instead.

This has a lot of depth. We put down animals for merely attacking a human. We don’t necessarily put down humans though. But there’s inconsistency on which gender gets what consequence. At the end of the day violence, murder, leaves a victim. That victim is no less victimized by a man or woman or dog or whatever.

It’s wrong. The issue your referring to with the media’s portrayal is gynocentrism. The preferential treatment to women has created an awful woman in western culture and demonized men. And why? Because the constraints women were held to changed. So they make different decisions.

The moment you justify something like this, past abuse excuses or alleviates penalty, it’ll be #metoo. It will perpetuate more and more violence because there is not a consequence to prevent the action. If you question it, most of us know here the affect of feminism/gynocentrism on the government, Family court, etc. A similar result we see from a lack of consequence to divorce will surely happen. Divorce laws being lenient and even beneficial to females has directly created current divorce rates, male suicide rates, declining birth rates, etc.

So you excuse a crime, for any reason, that crime will grow. In this instance you’re referring to females with past abuse receiving a lesser or no penalty for their violence. Well we know what women will do with that. Imo any group of humans, when left unchecked and without a consequence to negate negative behavior, will live in chaos.

I agree with your comments about how a self declared history of abuse gets dealt with differently. The Julie Bindel piece posted above is an example; the woman is said to have had a neighbour spy on her husband, and to have read his e mails, yet he was the coercive controlling one.

My view for what its worth is that there is a set of very sexist stereotypes that leads to men being treated as bad and women as mad. These have been around for years, and modern victimhood feminism simply adds to them.

No of course not to both. To say women can never be anything other than perfect is to say they aren't really human.
