This is a reactionnary post to yesterday's, which is misinformation that is kept being spread over and over, and I hate misinformation.
Now excuse me first, instead of a laboratory trying to do shock buzz article to sell their brand, I'll use the french governement as source.
In France, doing a DNA test is a court process, with legal framework. This is to ensure you will be helped with the result like divorce, stopping child welfare (and having the real father starting paying).
Making it a legal process, either you are the father, mother or the kid, you can't do a DNA test by yourself. This means you will be sure that any dna test done is a real one. You won't have the wife trying to fake a DNA test to "prove" you're the father, then having the family taking sides on who to trust.
If you think that just doing a quick DNA test to prove you're the father is harmless, the simple fact of doing it means there is a problem somewhere.
Also if you think it's against your freedom, you have to understand Europeans doesn't see the same way how much reach their governement can have in their life. Restricting "freedom" is not a problem if it's to help/protect, especially against human stupidity.
That's how guns are (mostly) banned because it's believied it's cause more harm than anything ; how France limit soda serving at only one in restaurants and fast food to help those with bad sugar habits ; and how you do DNA tests with a legal framework.
