The system allows double standards that favor women. Getting tired of it.

No need to call your mum next time you stumble out of Mooseheads in the early hours of the morning - all-female rideshare service Shebah has officially launched in Canberra and it's the next best thing.

Founded in Melbourne last year by former ABC breakfast host, comedian and mother of four, Georgina McEncroe, Shebah employs female drivers and only accepts women and primary school-aged children as passengers. Boys up to 18 can ride with Shebah if accompanied by a female guardian.

Is this legal in Australia?

According to Ms McEncroe, the rideshare service was founded purely in the name of safety.

So you're safer with women? Tell that to the ambulance driver, Paul Judd.

Aside from the truly disturbing presumption that boys 12-17 are a danger to women the fact that they chose the word guardian rather than, say, chaperone is very telling.

There have been several attempts to start female rideshare services in the US and other countries. They have all failed, because most women aren't as paranoid and have no problem taking Uber or whatever local service is available. The exception is some Muslim countries where gender separation is mandated by law.

Yeah this'll fail, just like all the other female centric startups whose whole business model is "you know that successful business that one guy started? Just that but with the potential customer base intentionally cut in half!"
