I’m not sure what part of being a guest in another persons country gives you the impression that you can shit on their traditions because they don’t align with yours.

[–]RapingTheWilling 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not sure whose side you're on, but both could use this exact same sentence in their own defense.

[–]DoctorDank 76 points77 points78 points 8 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

It's an invasion, pure and simple. They want to come to Europe, then out-reproduce the native Europeans, then remake society in their own image.

[–]hajamieli 29 points30 points31 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Then turn it into another battle zone and/or oppressive regime. Then they seek refuge from it to another area, and the pattern repeats. It's like a disease.

[–]YareDaze -4 points-3 points-2 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

God, have you nutjobs also invaded this subreddit?

[–]DoctorDank 21 points22 points23 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

By 2040, if current trends continue, over 50% of the births in Germany will be from migrants. And if you think your typical Middle Eastern or Sub-Saharan migrant wants to keep the traditions of Europe strong, I have a bridge to sell you.

Statistics don't lie.

[+]YareDaze -10 points-9 points-8 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I'm guessing they're a monolithic entity that wants to dominate Europe and rape all their women aswell, this seems to be the trend among nutjobs.

Statistics don't lie but interpetations of statistics do. First generation migrants tend to have more children, not somuch for the second or third generation

[–]DoctorDank 12 points13 points14 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes, that is taken into account. Europeans will still be outbred, and in our lifetimes.

Also remember that the second and third generation tends to be more radicalized. Like that second generation migrant who bombed that concert in Manchester.

Also, just because someone is worried about something that you're not worried about, doesn't make it okay for you to hand-wave it away and call them nutjobs.

[+]YareDaze -6 points-5 points-4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Terrorism is an ideological idea is what i believe, firstly we have to defeat the source of the frustration of the youths who go on commiting such crimes.

Secondly, i live in Europe and the biggest Westeners here are the second and third generation of muslims, yes they retain their muslim identity but their lives are practically the same as those of the westeners.

Secondly immigrants can't be put in ghettos, this has been a trend that's not good since it doesn't make integration possible.

We don't even know if radicalism will decline or rise, major changes in world politics will dictate that.

Also terrorism isn't actually as huge a problem as people tend to think, sure they're avoidable deaths but the problem has been blown out of proportion ( no pun intented ) because it's such a controversial issue.

The numbers shows that it's not even in the top 100 of avoidable deaths.

[–]FuncuzCapt-Save-A-Ho 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ah, yes, because they've integrated so well so far. We may be "nutjobs" but at least we're not confused about the "culture" these animals are bringing with them.

[–]Silent_Knights 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Animals, so just like those dudes who came from across the Atlantic to 'discover' North America...

Whoops -__-

[+][deleted] -9 points-8 points-7 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

In what country has this ever happened in since colonial times which didn't involve military invasion?

Serious question

[–]FuncuzCapt-Save-A-Ho 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Jews, Palestine.

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points-2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Which has involved military action, has it not?

[–]FuncuzCapt-Save-A-Ho 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nope. It was attacked the minute it was declared a nation but they didn't start any war for the land.

[+][deleted] -8 points-7 points-6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I didn't think anyone would have any examples

[–]KapnKaveman 26 points27 points28 points 8 years ago (53 children) | Copy Link

Give it time, with Soros pumping in more Muslims and birthrates being what they are, it will be Muslims who own France with the "old" French as their guests.

[–]J27 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (52 children) | Copy Link

Soros, christ. Some of you just fucking reach for the sake of reaching

[–]mr_mrs_yuk 14 points15 points16 points 8 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

I bet you think Russia rigged the election

[–]Rs1000000 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

Russia didn't rig it, but do you think they didn't influence the outcome?

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Do you think Russia hasn't attempted to influence the outcome of US elections throughout the entire cold war? The fact that a certain subset had no issue with anything Russia did until 2016 is pretty telling

[–]Rs1000000 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The most likely have been at for a while, but in my opinion they haven't been truly successful until recently. Another issue is they will keep doing it until something is done.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They have been at it for a very long time, and it is not just them. Every state, including and especially, our own, does everything within it's power to influence politics in countries of which it has interests.

We have been doing this in Russia for a very long time just like they have us. Financing opposition groups, giving their enemies shelter, etc.

The only real difference is that in this election, the desperation to find a scapegoat for it's outcome has our journalists suddenly highlighting and doing deep investigation into an issue that has always been present, but previously shrugged at, as a normal part of Realpolitik.

[–]mr_mrs_yuk 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

Russia didn't force thousands of Americans to go to the poles.

I also don't understand how liberals can be so mad at Russia this year only but don't even want to consider that there could be thousands of illegal votes cast. Liberals only care when it doesn't benefit them. Same reason every four years liberals talk about how much they want to help poor blacks in the city and then for four years do nothing to really help.

[–]Rs10000001 points 8 years ago [recovered] (15 children) | Copy Link

Where are the illegal votes from? I thought that was disproved...Either way I think Russia is going to keep at it and maybe the next time they will install someone you arent in favour of..what then?

[–]mr_mrs_yuk 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Illegal immigrants are affecting the outcomes of elections in California. That was "disproven" after someone in California said "yeah that totally didn't happen". There was no investigation.

Russia fits your narrative and voting illegals doesn't. You're only concerned about the one that doesn't get your politicians extra votes. Trump isn't in Russia's pocket so I'm much more concerned about people who aren't American voting for looneys like Clinton.

[–]Rs10000001 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (13 children) | Copy Link

You to know alot about what my narrative is. I am not a neither a Clinton supporter nor a Trump supporter. Its laughable you think Tump isnt in Russia's pocket, the man cannot say a bad thing about Putin and numerous members of his staff are either under investigation or already have pled guilty. Its a pity the tribalism runs so strong in US politics. its basically us against them and Russia is laughing at you right now.

[–]mr_mrs_yuk 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

You still haven't addressed the hundreds of thousands of illegals who vote each year. But Russia! Loser.

[–]CommonMisspellingBot 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hey, Rs1000000, just a quick heads-up:
alot is actually spelled a lot. You can remember it by it is one lot, 'a lot'.
Have a nice day!

[–]mr_mrs_yuk 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I bet you think Europe is a fairy tale place and the violent Muslim migrants just need more free money and they will be good boys.

[–]J27 -3 points-2 points-1 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Yep, definitely a Trumpanzee. I'd use big words I wouldnt want to confuse you.

[–]mr_mrs_yuk 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I can nearly guarantee that I am more educated than you.

[–]J27 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And yet you still come off so stupid. Quite a talent.

[–]mr_mrs_yuk 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You are a joke, man.

[–]mendicant_jester -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That’s just as well, because you can’t even keep from dropping the small ones.

[–]KapnKaveman 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

Do you not get that the EU is basically trying to give Soros and his NGOs the rights to determine who crosses their borders? Have you followed the migration thing at all? Who do you think pays for the ships and NGOs to pump in Muslims from Africa?

[–]J27 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

Show me proof of any of that. Please.

Christ you couldnt possibly choose a more right-wing centric source than if you had linked Foxnews.com

Embarassing.

[–]KapnKaveman 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

So you can't refute what's there - so attack the source. Logical fallacy. Bye.

[–]J27 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Well if the source is bullshit, why would i bother with "whats there?" You realize you have no credibility right? I swear, some of you just willfully stupid.

[–]KapnKaveman 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Do you think the same of CNN, WaPo, MSNBC, BBC, etc?

[–]YareDaze 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Trying to reason with nutjobs who fall for crazy conspiracy theories and don't really have much critical capacity to begin with isn't something you can do.

[–]Aelonius 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're providing proof from a questionable source in which there is very likely a strong form of bias. You then fail to provide additional sources that are trustworthy that would support your argument.

When you're called out on that, that the source isn't the best representation of facts, you get all grumpy and snarky.

You made the logical fallacy here when you made a statement that a certain person (Soros) tries to achieve certain action, and then fail to list a credible source. Don't twist things around.

[–]Slateski -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Well generally speaking, the migrants pay.

[–]KapnKaveman 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And who pays once they reach their destinations and go directly on to welfare benefits?

Who creates and keeps the NGOs running? Who pays to organize others to create a constant flow of African Muslims pumping in to the EU?

[–]Slateski 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Nice goalpost shift. Who pays if they go on welfare? The taxpayers. Got any evidence e. g. Soros is funding illegal immigration from Africa?

[+]JobDestroyer -73 points-72 points-71 points 8 years ago* (37 children) | Copy Link

Maybe the part where people should be able to do whatever the fuck they want as long as they don't hurt anyone? You know, basic freedom and shit? Human rights? All that jazz?

Maybe you're European so you don't know anything about such foreign concepts like "liberty" and "freedom"...

Enjoy your religious persecution of innocent people. Make apologetics for it. It's what Europe is known for.

[–]GypsyHavok1 points 8 years ago [recovered] (8 children) | Copy Link

I like this double standard we have to hold ourselves to as Americans. We get shit on when we don’t respect customs traditions abroad, then little shit lords like you condemn other Americans for not being inclusive enough when we get mad that someone comes here and tries to change American society to fit their religion/culture. Liberty and freedom have nothing to do with respecting another nations culture and traditions, it’s not a free pass to be a dick.

[–]GhostofB1 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (7 children) | Copy Link

America has a culture of assimilation, people go to America to become Americans a live the American dream.

Try living in Australia, where the government pushes "multiculturalism" which means "come here, keep your culture, it'll all be fine".

It's not all fine. The American way is the way on this. I don't want anyone in my country that doesn't respect and want to join the culture.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Aussies “settlers” moaning about foreigners and bringing in a foreign culture.

irony so thick it makes the average piss head Aussie sun burnt tosser look like a brain surgeon.

How the fuck am I a "settler" you daft cunt? I was born here.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You have zero self awareness you nonce.

Just remember this, whenever you moan about foreigners and being against multi culture, that whatever you say could be turned around and used against you buy a aboriginal Aussie.

A fucking convicts spawn the most illegal of illegal immigrants telling other folk that they shouldn’t enter Australia and bring their own culture.

Know your history you sun drenched chav.

[–]GhostofB1 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

I am fully self aware and I have no guilt about Australia's origins, we're a fantastic country thanks to colonisation. It's wonderful here. We also have a decent education system, which seems to be lacking wherever you're from, you write like a retard.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Let other people enjoy then maybe?

And if you enjoy colonisation so much sit back and enjoy it happening in Aus then?

Pray tell which Islamic country is as welcoming to people from other religions as France?

Which religion regularly murders people that aren't part of it for simply existing in their countries?

And you want to talk about persecution of innocents - nice attempt at taquiya, it's either that or you're denser than lead.

[–]JobDestroyer -4 points-3 points-2 points 8 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Pray tell which Islamic country is as welcoming to people from other religions as France?

So you are looking to Islamic countries for guidance on this?

Which religion regularly murders people that aren't part of it for simply existing in their countries?

Most of them

[–]KapnKaveman 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm asking you to measure tolerance. And you're clueless, thanks for confirming that.

[–]GhostofB1 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (8 children) | Copy Link

Wow, you're a complete fucking idiot.

No, no other large religions murder people. Individual psycho cunts might, but Islam is quite unique in that the ringleaders in the religion declare who should be killed. Christianity doesn't issue fatwas calling for killings, and either does Buddhism or Siekism or Judaism or Hinduism... This is an Islamic problem.

[–]JobDestroyer -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

What do you think the Israeli occupation of Palestine is about? What do you think their continuous pushes for destablization in the Middle East is about? Why do you think politicians in the US and Europe are sympathetic to them?

[–]GhostofB1 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (6 children) | Copy Link

What do you think the Israeli occupation of Palestine is about?

You think the occupation of Israel is for the purpose of religious murder? As I said before you're a complete fucking idiot.

Yes, nation states make moves to keep shit-hole countries suppressed because if barbarians run the world we're fucked. As a non-American I'm pleased that America is the superpower and not the oil rich rulers in the Middle East.

[–]JobDestroyer 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

So, what, you think they keep stealing the homes of families who have lived in Israel for decades because they're ugly or something? Why do you think they do that?

[–]GhostofB1 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

We're talking about religious killing you simple cunt, not forced eviction and land grabs.

[–]JobDestroyer 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

We're talking about religious killing you simple cunt, not forced eviction and land grabs.

You realize that the IDF does engage in warfare against the native peoples fairly frequently, right? It's an apartheid state.

[–]Supes_man 19 points20 points21 points 8 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I’m totally with ya... but you’re offbase.

Yes you should have the basic human freedom to do whatever you want as long as you don’t hurt anyone. Totally agree.

But if you’re choosing to try to apply for citizenship of another sovereign nation, you must follow their rules. We require that same thing here.

[+]JobDestroyer -38 points-37 points-36 points 8 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

France has the wrong rules. They're a socialist state in the middle of western europe.

[–]Supes_man 21 points22 points23 points 8 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

France is a sovereign nation and can have whatever rules it wants. Unless you’re a citizen there, you have zero say in the matter. How would you feel about someone in France telling America they have the wrong rules? Self determination goes both ways.

Facts. She refused to shake the hand of the person who was going to be granting her citizenship.

The government said her behaviour showed she was "not assimiliated into the French community" - one of the reasons it can invoke under the civil code to oppose citizenship.

You could say the exact same sentence about any other country in the world including the US. You MUST show you are willing to acclimate to the community of the country you want to join. Don’t like it? Then you don’t get to come in, simple as that.

Same argument is often made for “they’re in America, they should have to be able to pass a basic knowledge test in English.”

[+]JobDestroyer -36 points-35 points-34 points 8 years ago* (7 children) | Copy Link

She has religious convictions and the person not granting her citizenship was just power-tripping like an asshole.

We have religious freedom in the USA. France is an inferior nation as they do not.

Same argument is often made for “they’re in America, they should have to learn English.”

America doesn't have a national language. It shouldn't need one. We're not a 2nd world European country. You wanna know what the punishment is in the USA for not speaking English? You don't get to effectively communicate with people who do. As it should be.

[–]Supes_man 15 points16 points17 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes we totally have religious freedom here. But if your religion says that you can’t shake a person hand then it very clearly shows you aren’t going to assimilate properly into our country. It’s as simple as that.

Your can also say “my religion says I don’t have to obey speed limits on the road and am allowed to take crap in public.” And that’s totally fine. Just accept that won’t mesh well with the country you are trying to get into and thus you will be rejected.

I’m ALL for calling out governments for stomping on religious freedom but this isn’t one of those times friend.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points16 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

English is absolutely the official language, go to any state government office, or try to complete anything requiring the law, and you will see that English is in fact the official language of the United States. Just because a moron like you doesn't see some law specifically stating, "English is the official language" doesn't mean it isn't true. The only asshole is you. Religious freedom and our official language, English, have nothing to do with each other.

[+]GhostofB1 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

English is absolutely the official language, go to any state government office

Federally, the USA has no official language. At a state level, 30 states have English as the official language, but Hawaiian is an official language in Hawaii, and Alaska has about 20 official languages.

It's ok to not know things, it's not ok to say stupid shit like "English is absolutely the official language" when you actually have no fucking idea.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

What are the other languages? What other languages do you guys speak other than English?

[–]GhostofB1 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm not American. Hawaii has Hawaiian and English. Alaska has English and about 20 native languages. About 50 million Americans speak Spanish and there's government websites in Spanish.

[–]Brad_Breath 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

A big part of the French identity is the phrase Liberty, Egality, Fraternity. If you go to France you will see it written on every civic building. And the best thing about it is that they mean it. This person we not respecting Egality, as she didn't want to be equal enough to shake hands. She was also rejecting the fraternity by not shaking hands.

Those are the terms for French citizenship. It's not complicated, and you can't just do whatever you like and still be taken in, why should that be the case?

[–]JobDestroyer -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's one hell of a stupid rationalization.

No, she has a religious thing where she doesn't touch men.

The french government doesn't understand the meaning of liberty. They're a socialist state.

I can't think of a stupider reason to break up a family. Shame on you for spinning apologetics for it. I hope you're deported from wherever you're from so you can understand it.

[–]Rationalbacon 64 points65 points66 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

There are many reasons to hate the French, but by Grabthars hammer do i respect their decision in this case.

Who are these people that think they can just demand a country take them as a citizen, its not a right it's a privilege, you are asking them to provide something for you.

if you think your religion outranks and overrules essential concepts of a nation (such as equality of the sexes ,or we are all equal uinder the law e.g my testimony is as valid as yours) then that is OK, but you can quite frankly fuck off and every nation can tell you exactly that to your face. if you essential core beliefs are oppossed to the central concepts of a nation then that nation has everyright to tell you "we dont want you, get out" when applying for citizenship

[–][deleted] 32 points33 points34 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

People need to realize that religion is not race, and there is no obligation for anyone or any nation to put up with someones superstitions if its offending the values of our society. People that want to live as savages should live in countries where that is socially acceptable.

[–]Dead_Art 13 points14 points15 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's like backward idea's create backward countries that are terrible to live in, causing people to want to leave. Who then move to a new country and get upset when your not allowed to be backward there.

It's almost like not allowing people to act backward has something to do with a country not being so shitty people have to flee it.

[–]Tgunner192 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

A firm handshake is a sign of sincerity and more importantly, a cultural norm. Going to a foreign land and refusing to abide by the established cultural norms is offensive and inappropriate. Is there any place on earth that is tolerant of outsiders candidly insulting the local culture?

[–]BhedaI fuck SJW up the ass all day. 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There's such thing as too liberal. People can't live in extremes. This guy is far too liberal to run a country with the best interest.

[–]DesiGora 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I'm a muslim and I LOVE this decision. There is nothing in Islam that says men and women can't shake hands. These disgusting traditional, extremist muslims sexualize EVERYTHING. "HEY BITCH, shaking hands is not the same as grinding on the man's crotch!". These are the same disgusting people who make little girls as young as 3-4 wear a head cover, again, sexualizing children! She deserves it, they should send her ass back to Algeria where she can refuse a handshake but can get raped at random at any street corner without any consequences. Good luck lady.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

This guy get it. Regardless of religion or tradition, we don't have to accept people acting like cavemen.

[–]DesiGora 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s just infuriating to me. Religion aside, whether or not your interpretation of your religion is dumb, if you are so rigid in your beliefs, why even bother trying to migrate to a clearly secular country that clearly does not tolerate your shit? Surely, this moron should know that her own religion says 1) respect the traditions and customs of your adopted country and 2) when some greets you (handshake) you must greet them with equal respect and dignity. I hate them all.

[–]YareDaze -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Acting like cavemen? Saying that is straight up idiotic, you might not agree with some doing that but that doesn't make the caveman or any less human.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It makes them less modern. This isn't a religious issue, its and issue of choose modernity vs savagery. We shouldn't allow people to drag us into the past, or underscore our values.

[–]YareDaze 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you think so, but i fundamentally disagree with using such reasoning, it's inhumane and not prone to anyone making a growth in any way.

What's morally wrong and right is not some issue of whatever is the newest trend must be the most correct one.

[–]matador12121212 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

There is nothing in Islam that says men and women can't shake hands.

Yeaaaaaaah....that's not correct. Islam is pretty clear on this: no shaking hands between men and women who are not "mahram" (a "mahram" includes the husband as well as all people that the woman cannot marry e.g. brother, father, son etc.).

Exhibit A:

It was narrated that Ma’qil ibn Yassaar said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “For one of you to be stabbed in the head with an iron needle is better for him than that he should touch a woman who is not permissible for him.”

(Reference: Narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, 486. Shaykh al-Albaani said in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 5045, that this hadeeth is saheeh.)

Exhibit B:

Muhammad bin Munkadir said that he heard Umaimah bint Ruqaiqah say: “I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) with some other women, to offer our pledge to him. He said to us: ‘(I accept your pledge) with regard to what you are able to do. But I do not shake hands with women.’”

(Reference: http://sunnah.com/urn/1277230)

[–]DesiGora 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Riiight. Since it is pretty clear that Hadith is entirely fabricated nonsense there is still nothing in Islam that prohibits shaking hands. Let’s imagine for a second if the Hadith you quoted was true, 1) touching a woman in this context doesn’t mean literally touch, it means in a sexual context 2) those words sound very violent. I don’t know why pretend Muslims who claim to love their prophet insist on portraying him as a violent nut job.

There are verses in the Quran that actually condemn Hadith by name.

[–]matador12121212 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

There are verses in the Quran that actually condemn Hadith by name.

That's not correct either. Hadith is the collective word used for the sayings and deeds of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). And this is what the Quran says about the actions of the Prophet:

Indeed in the Messenger of Allâh (Muhammad SAW) you have a good example to follow, for him who hopes for (the Meeting with) Allâh and the Last Day and remembers Allâh much. (33:21)

If the Prophet didn't shake hands with women, it makes sense for Muslims (who are told that he is a good example to follow) to do the same and refrain from shaking hands with people of the opposite gender.

And if that seems extreme, consider this next verse:

"It may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allâh knows but you do not know." (2:216)

Since a Muslim believes in Allah, they also believe that His knowledge and wisdom are infinite. So if Allah has prohibited this action, as depicted by His Prophet, there's wisdom in that prohibition. The fact that we may or may not be able to grasp that doesn't change its value.

[–]DesiGora 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Like I said, there is a growing number of people, including myself, who consider Hadith to be corrupt and therefore unreliable. Just look at the numbers, over 100,000 Hadith were initially put forth and Bukhari “authenticated” a fraction of them. God promised in the Quran to preserve the Quran, not the Hadith. Additionally, the prophet wasn’t allowed to preach anything outside of the Quran so if it’s not in the Quran then it’s fabricated.

There are also a lot of contradictions and nonsense in Hadith. Gods religion doesn’t have contradictions and nonsense.

[–]matador12121212 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Additionally, the prophet wasn’t allowed to preach anything outside of the Quran so if it’s not in the Quran then it’s fabricated.

Relying only on Quran and rejecting Hadith would make a lot of things very difficult. For example, the Quran mentions many many times to offer prayer. How many rakaat? How to do ablution first? What time to pray? What to recite in prayer? What sequence of steps to follow in prayer? How many sujood in one rakat?

None of these answers are available in the Quran. Only in the hadith.

And that's just one issue, prayer. Similar problems crop up with zakat, hajj and many other facets of religion. Hadith is pretty much mandatory if you want to follow Islam properly.

[–]Uwbymannen 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I really don't see the reason not to simply shake somebody's hands. Nobody takes that sexually... at all, assuming that is the reason.

[–]Michael4911 points 8 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

It's funny how many people think France had freedom of religion.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It has freedom FROM religion.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually in France religion and the state are very much seperate. No religious education in schools. You want to learn about religion go the sky fairy house of your choosing and do it in your own time.

So yes, this seems perfectly reasonable to me. Part of the deal is you do this thing - if your superstition says you shouldn't then tough.

At the end of the day RELIGION IS A CHOICE

[+]JobDestroyer -50 points-49 points-48 points 8 years ago* (28 children) | Copy Link

uhhh, why the fuck would people be okay with that? The hell is wrong with you? She has a religious belief so therefore she should get thrown under the bus?

[–]Aumuss 46 points47 points48 points 8 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

It's not about throwing her under the bus for a religious belief, it's that to become a citizen of France you have to show you are willing to assimilate into French culture.

If she won't shake hands with men, that's a pretty big culture divide. One she isn't willing to move on (because it's a religious thing). But France isn't willing to move either, because it's a culture thing.

[+]JobDestroyer -49 points-48 points-47 points 8 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

France is a bunch of communist jerkwads, so if you're defending them, doesn't that make you a communist jerkwad?

Let her go without shaking hands, and fuck you for defending statism.

The person who is revelling in hatred for someone who just simply doesn't like shaking hands acting as though they're better than me is hilarious.

Shame on you, you're a bad person, and I hope you're deported some day. You're in the company of genuine bigots, and I hope you're okay with that.

[–]Aumuss 30 points31 points32 points 8 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

You asked a question, I answered the question.

And then you went nuts.

Read the thread again.

Please quote my "revelling in hatred" bits.

Also quote the bit where I claim I'm better than you.

Why would I get deported? I was born in Britain to British parents. That's quite an odd statement.

[+]JobDestroyer -8 points-7 points-6 points 8 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

I was born in Britain to British parents

So that explains why you're such a goddamn pinko. Freedom is just a foreign concept to you brits. You're just so used to being told what to do all the time that the idea of someone doing something that they want to do, and not something that the government wants them to do, is just unimaginable. You aren't even allowed to possess knives anymore, that's how infantilized your people are. You looove big brother.

[–]Aumuss 27 points28 points29 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I live in America. I'm allowed to walk down the street with a sword if I want to. I'm not allowed to hit anyone with it, but I can have it.

I also get to have any number of firearms, and I choose to do so.

I can't do that in Britain, because that country is run by pinkos.

America is infinitely superior to Britain. Your country sucks and you have no freedom at all.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Of course not. These people determine who is and who is not worth defending by looking at a paint color swatch. If you are darker than mocha latte, you are to be defended at all costs. If you are lighter, you are the oppressor

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points29 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes. This is not about religion, it is about living in a modern and civilized country, and not having to pander to traditions that are frankly savage.

These rats have no business being in other countries where they can't simply do one of the most simple customs of a culture. Its not like these pieces of dirt are highly educated engineers that are going to help French society. They suck off the government tit, breed like flies, and try to push their own rules on the west.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Why would this ever not be okay? France can allow or deny anyone they like for no reason at all if they so wanted. She insults them as they move to do her a favor? And in your mind they are in the wrong?

Spineless, weak people like yourself are a cancer to any strong society.

[–]JobDestroyer -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Is it an insult to German society for a Jew not to wear a star on their chest?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can't possibly be serious with this comment. Not only are you attempting to compare Nuremberg laws to a handshake, but it wouldn't even be a helpful analogy even if it wasn't vile, considering:

A) German crimes were never about refusing foreign Jews the right to migrate there, which would have not only been a legal position to hold, but significantly preferable to what actually happened.

B) Why would any Jew want to migrate to Germany at the height the Nuremberg laws? (hint: They wouldn't)

Also, while you are absurdly grasping back to world war II to add unneeded hyperbole to your strange position of immigration entitlement, you would do well to recall that the very pretext for the many invasions and the violence of WWII, and violence all throughout that century was directly due to the number of "ethnic _____ citizens" to be found and supposedly "oppressed" in the countries which they lived yet never considered themselves true members of, and therefore, never assimilated into.
