The way divorces are treated my the legal system are absolutely fucked. Fine split the assets 50/50, but asking one spouse to support the other for the remainder of their lives is unfair and unsustainable.

Eh. Maybe split assets that were accumulated during the course of the marriage to a certain point if both have contributed. Personally I'd prefer to liquidate all my assets and burn the money in a bucket rather than support someone who's perfectly capable of working and petty enough to abuse the system.

A judge presiding over divorce proceedings can deem the effects of the prenuptial to be "unconscionable" usually if there is a huge disparity in the potential success and quality of life of the two parties after they divorce. The judge can be influenced by a lot of things and his/her bias or personal feelings about the two parties in the divorce and then make a determination based on that. The judge has the authority to nullify the prenup.
What basically happens is that the woman successfully makes the case that it's unfair for her to have to work for a living and no longer enjoy the same quality of life of her former husband because she had been conditioned by the marriage to be a dependent. The man is seen as having a moral responsibility with the subtext that the marriage prevented the woman from pursuing other options while in her prime years, whether that be building career or finding a different man to leech off of. Basically, the man is a man so he can do man shit to be successful, while the woman has aged and can no longer be successful or trick a successful man into marrying her. That's unfair, and therefore unconscionable, and therefore pre-marriage circumstances and legal agreements are overridden by moral imperative.

Dude, be careful. I don't know where you live but in many countries now they will treat you as man and wife if you have lived together or "presented yourself as a (married) couple".
Thing is, while the laws are not soooo bad right now, we know how 'family' court can and will make laws retroactive. You could easily find yourself married under the law, at least as far as vagimony is concerned.

It's absolutely true.
If a judge decides that it's unfair for the woman, and there is not any technicality to nullify the prenuptial, they can deem the effects of the prenup to be immoral or unconscionable because the woman will fail in life without support while the man will have continued success. Basically the woman is still a child and can't survive without a continued dependence on her former husband and therefore pesky things like legal contracts are less important than a sense of fairness and morality.

Yea but just picture how much more welfare would have to pay out, if marrying a woman didnt give her access to your pocket book till the day you died.. and that aint include the chicks who get knocked up just to collect child support and more benefits, come to Canada it's a whole fucking economy up here for these chicks. My ex made more money than I did, off of benefits alone, literally you can make more money have three kids (threes the magic number) - subsidized childcare, free housing, welfare checks coming in, child benefit checks, it amounts to like 45-55k when you factor in savings from having EVERYTHING subsidized.

There's too much to unpack with this conversation but in my opinion women are just as capable than men and in some carreers moreso. The state recognizes this and won't gibs her jack shit unless she's mentally ill or was a homemaker prior to divorce.
Imo if you have a divorce and one of the parties involved is not career oriented ie stay at home mom/dad then the working party should pay a small one time alimony to help get that person on their own two feet. That being said if both parties have a source of income, no alimony should be paid.
